Paying more in taxes for something that's actually necessary for the country is better than paying less in taxes for some useless bullshit like we're doing in Iraq. Yes, we'll need to raise taxes. Going to cry, because you had to sacrifice your private jet to save thousands of people who can't afford health insurance, or who get ripped off by insurance companies who make holes in their contracts so that they can throw anyone who contracts an expensive illness out of their plan?

They wouldn't have to do anything other than not be theocratic fascists to fix most of the problems. It doesn't take much to legalize gay marriage, fund stem cells, take 'god' back out from the pledge of allegiance and remove magic from science classes in Kansas.
I don't doubt that it would be difficult for any candidate to deal with our current situation in Iraq - Bush has already screwed that one up completely for us. I don't think other candidates could magically make oil prices drop again either.
Don't act like Bush knew about this all along, and that was why he didn't fund stem cells. Bush refused to fund stem cells because he cares more about single cells that are already damned to being thrown into a trash bin than he does about the real people in this country who are actually dying. The fact that now there's a more advanced medical procedure which can sidestep the controversy doesn't diminish the fact that Bush was shoving his born-again bullshit down the throat of every American.
