DId any one notice its the Philosopher's stone and not sorcerers stone? whats up with that?

yea like 45 million years ago philosopher's stone is the british title and the us title is socerors

To summarize...

Nicholas Flamel was a real alchemist... someone who stufied the theory of alchemy... Supposedly he really did discover the Philosopher's Stone.
American publisher's didn't think kids would want to read a book with the word Philosopher in it... so they changed it to Sorceror. Nicholas Flamel is a British legend, so most kids there have heard of it. Not as many American kids have.
