In the book Harry passes Lucius the diary inside one of his socks, Lucius takes the diary out of the sock and throws the sock, Dobby catches it and is set free.
In the movie Harry passes Lucius the diary and he gives it to Dobby thinking of it as useless now, Harry makes Dobby open the diary and inside is a sock and he's set free.
I personally prefer the movie version, it's sneakier and kind of better justifies Lucius wanting to attack Harry because it's Harry's cunning rather than Lucius' stupidity that's to blame.
What do you guys think and is there anything else you liked better in the film rather than the movie.

The movie version is a lot better then the book version in my opinion.

The movie did that part better. That was one of the few things that they did better in the movie.

i agree... besides the diary in a sock jus sounds so silly... how did he put it in? are his feet as big as hagrid's or sumthing lols... this is one of the few places where i thought the movie was better than the book!

yeah, id go with the sock in the diary.
if someone tried handing me a smelly old sock, with a demented flat shape, i wouldnt even touch it, i'd be like "wtf is that !"

Oh, I definately prefer the sock in the diary.
I never noticed it was different in the book, I must re-read it.
