The stairs are mentioned in the book. They could have showed Hermione choosing the correct potion on the way to save the stone.

I liked the movie enough, I read the book first and then watched the movie. And to be honest, the movie is disappointing. There are so many parts that are left out. The detail and creativity of the books is part of what makes them SO great and the movies just don't capture it.

I would rather watch a 10 hr movie then a movie that doesnt have the parts everyone imgained. And yes, hermione did pamper herself. In the books, it said she made sure she looked nice and acted liked a lady in school but sometime it was hard to keep tity when the school was always in trouble. I have 2 versions so If you think I am kidding, maybe you should get the one that came from japan and china..

anyways.. the stone was red and red is blood red. there isnt rele too many shades of red. At least they kept it in the same color

One of the deletd scenes was Hagrid and Harry in the subway (underground tube thingy for you Brits) and he tells Harry how he always wanted a dragon, just like in the book. Well since it was deleted, it was a bit strange when later on Harry tells Ron and Hermione that Hagrid told Harry thatt he one thing he wanted was a dragon because it never happened in the movie.

Ron didn't get detention in the book, it was Neville who did.

Kinda late, but I think it was meant to be "tidy."

Anyway, along with the other things said, there was also no logical potion thing after they did the chess match. Instead of Hermione getting the potion to go back through the flame as in the book, Hermione went to save Ron after the chess match instead.
