So he could infiltrate into Dumbledore's inner circle...become someone Dumbledore trusts so he could get close to Harry.

This is slightly abstract question, but does anybody have any theories as to what house Barty was in?

Which Barty? Senior or Junior? Or both?

I would think.... Slytherin for Barty Crouch Jr... maybe that's how he fell in with the wrong crowd.... and Ravenclaw for Barty Crouch Senior.

he wanted to be in the school during the triwizard tournament to help harry enter it and win, and change the Cup into a portkey that would lead harry to the graveyard where voldy was

I actually think that he would have been in whatever house his mom was in. It seems likely for him. He could still fallen into the wrong crowd just as easily, especially without the influence of his mother around. Wormtail managed it.

Was his mom and Slytherin? lol, I don't know. I'm not sure if he would be a Slytherin anymore because I thought about it and Barty Crouch Sr hated the DE and Slytherin was filled with them.... so maybe his son wouldn't have been in that house... I dunno.

^ Actually, I could see hi mother being in any house other than Slytherin. She was very kind, her plan to get crouch out of Azkaban was rather intelligent and brave. I would actually assume that she was in Ravenclaw, though. IF she were brave, then she would have stood up to her husband for all of those years when he was putting his son down. She obviously loved her son very much.

I don't think that she was, mostly because Barty was nothing like Lucius. They are two differene types of women who had to deal with two different types of men. The only thing that the two men had in common is that they were very passionate about their plights.

Barty was good at heart, though. He really thought that he was doing the right thing.

Lucius was a bad seed, altogether,

I didn't choose that example. You did when you compared Mrs. Crouch and Narcissa.

As DD said, it is our choices that define us. The only thing that we have to compare Narcissa and Mrs. Crouch is the husbands that they chose. We don't have enough knowledge of Mrs. Crouch to to much else. Mrs. Crouch married a man who had an admirable goal, Narcissa married a death eater.

ok here's the thing, you said the most probable thing was that mrs crouch wasnt a slytherin at all, i agreed with you but acknowledged the possibility of her being like narcissa, who was in slytherin

narcissa married a killer, while mrs crouch married a mad who was capable of using the most nasty means to achieve his "admirable goal", we both know thats not a good quality

Crouch's heart was always in the right place, though. I believe that when his wife married him, she didn't know that he would make such poor choices.

Narcissa was not deceived when she was married, though. She married a freaking death eater, knowing what he was! She didn't know that having a child would change her whole outlook on life.
