Severus Snape: Half-Blood Prince, Death Eater, Member of the Order of the Phoenix, former Professor Potions and Former Professor Defence against the Dark Arts IS GOOD!!
Why he is good:
If you look at the preverious Defence Against the Dark Arts teachers, there's a pattern:
Book 1: Quirell / Death Eater / Dead
Book 2: Lockhart /Crazy / Lost his Memory
Book 3: Lupin / Order of the Phoenix / Alive, unharmed (reputation damage --> werewolf)
Book 4: Crouch Jr. / Death Eater / Dead
Book 5: Umbridge / Crazy / Attacked by centaurs
Book 6: Snape / ??? / Alive, unharmed (reputation damage --> killed Dumbledore)
So, according to this pattern, Snape should be with the good guys. _________________ Nederlands!! |

Snape has been protecting lives since the first book.
He saved Harry from the Bludgeors.
He saved Dumbledore by giving him a potion after the cursed Horcrux ring.
He saved Draco by making the Unbreakable Vow.
Who would he bother succeeding in saving so many people if he was a true DE?
IMHO he deserves a Knighthood for services to the Wizarding World, he's a star! |

Snape helped harry because he owed a debt to James.
Snape helped Draco because he was in a sticky situation with Narcissa and Belatrix and it seemed like he didn't really have a choice. If he didn't do it then Belatrix definetly wouldn't have trusted him and might even have tried to kill him.
Snape helped Dumbledore probably because he owed a life debt to Dumbledore as well, now that the life debt was repayed, he was free to kill Dumbledore. |

Still doesn't make sense. Why'd he kill dumbledore? he stayed at hogwarts so he could spy on Dumbledore. In the 6th book they killed dumbledore because he was unarmed _________________ Harry Vs Voldemort Who will win? |

I really think that Snape was a DE; but something happened to drastically change his mind. OK, he "thought" he loved the Dark Arts, and he still does, but not to use them the way Voldemort does, to kill and murder.
Dumbledore definitely trusted Snape. How come?
Snapes saved countless lives.
I'm pretty sure that the theory relating to Snape "serving drinks at Spinners End" and small talk is valid. Something weird is happening, and the virtual "Snape" has started to talk and use the vocabulary normally used by Dumbledore. How come?
Snape has "bad manners", but his actions have always been for the good of the Order. How come?
We can say that in all probablity Snape is good, even if he definitely doesn't "like" Harry, - he has saved Harry.
So if we take out his words, and look at his actions, Snape is a superhero, and I'm sure Dumbledore would second me on that opinion!!

Loss of memory doesn't make you crazy. He was just more stupid and annoying then his normal self because he ha no idea or who he was so it just made him full of question. _________________ Peace is a lie. There is only passion.

I disagree. If you lose your memory, you're likely to lash out at people for no reason. _________________

| I disagree that Lupin's reputation has been damaged. It isn't his fault he got bitten. Moreover, no one lost respect for him in the 3rd book. |

Sure, he didn't lose respect, but many people didn't even have respect for him in the first place. His students did, but many were prejudiced. _________________

Lupin is such a *nice* guy, that he'd resign as he has integrity.
He'd expect parents to reject him as a *safe* tutor; so in the best interests of hogwarts, he'd resign.
I have so much respect for Lupin, he made the right choice, it saddens me to admit it, but he can't really be a teacher. Though he's probably by his nature, the best teacher there!! _________________ Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today. |

I agree. He is definitely one of my favorite characters. Though how he was portrayed in the movies...well, that's not 'my lupin'. You know what I mean? It's not how I pictured and still picture him in my mind's eye.
Yay for Lupin![/b] _________________

Yeah, I like Lupin. He's fair minded and sensible and all those lovely things you'd like to have in a teacher.
Also, he turns a blind eye now and again, and returns the Marauders map to Harry. A real cool guy. Not one you'd fancy, like draco, but definitely a nice guy. _________________ Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today. |

Both Lupin and Serius in the movies are not how I pictures them. It's dissapointing. I know Serius was in Azkhaban and all but still I pictured him as a sexy good looking not mad guy. More looking like Viggo Mortensen as Aragon in Lord of the Rings.
We'll I think you get the picture. Lupin I can't really think of an actor but I was dissapointed.
And I was terrified of how they would portray Bellatrix but the pictures of Helena Bonahm Carter as Bellatrix did not look to bad. But have to wait foir the movie. |

When I saw myself in that film, I started to laugh. That guy is completely different from me! But when I saw "Sirius"....I realised how much luck I had. Poor Padfoot, if he couls see himself...

I actually have faith in Helena for Bellatrix. I think she'll do a wonderful job, I've seen her in some other movies.
It was originally Helen McCroy playing Bella...but she got pregnant and would be heavily so by the time filming came about. haha... _________________

| In a few months we will know whether the producers lost the plot again. Helena is in any case a better option than what they could have made. |
