I can't remember any hint of a girlfriend. I can only remember Dumbledore described as having Auburn hair while he was young. Sorry.
Though it does raise the question are any of the teachers allowed to be married?

i am sure the teachers can. most of them probably were. its a question that drives me nuts. i would like to know more about dumbledores past.

Some of the more elite British schools don't allow Professors to be married. So you have hit on a pertinant question.
So it's a good point you've raised, can we think of any Hogwarts teacher that's been married, or had a girlfriend?

umm don't get mad if i spelled there names wrong. i don't have my books with me and i am very bad with peoples names. i tryed to list every teacher that was a teach from book 1 to book 6. if i forgot anyone please write it down.

IMHO I don't think the Professors have married partners outside of Hogwarts. We know for certain that Lupin wasn't married, even if it looks like Tonks has convinced him to actually *date* her in HBP.

He mightn't be gone, his brother could be gone, JKR said Dumbledore was dead, that could be Aberforth, not Albus.
But I still think he's dead..... he and McGonagall made a perfect pair, though.  |

It is kind of sad to think dumbledore was alone.. he was really busy though and probably couldnt have committed to a relationship with his busy schedule..
That is interesting though!! I dont even recall dumbledore having a brother!!! huh... |

Dumbledore is gone.....
but i'm sure he had a few relationships because we know he liked when the female teachers complimented him...they should have shown him blushing hehe

It makes me sad that draco is with pansy.. i always pictured him with a beautiful blond girl..but just as snobby as he with a scowl that resembles narcissa's..........its hard to imagine that draco woud settle for a fat ugly girl

haha awww!! I'm sure its not like that. I think Dumbledore had always wanted to be a teacher, it was his calling in life and there was no other way he could have lived better than being Headmaster of the very school he was taught how to do magic. With all the gifts and knowledge hes recieved, this is his way of giving it back
k, so with the Family trees I've seen so far, I haven't seen Dumbledore's connection with anyone! k, Supposedly hes direct descent from Merlin and yeah, I guess that would make sense because they both have outstanding physical attributes that match up. Dumbledore might be related to the Weasleys? The only thing thats actually confirmed is Aberforth Dumbledore so who knows!
Good thing in the seventh book, we hear some of Dumbledore's past! I'm itching to find out!

that would be really cool if he was related to the wesleys!
You know.. even though ron can be a bit of a ditz, he is a good wizard! In book 5 harry even admits to himself that the only thing he has up on ron is flying. the only reason he sucked for a little while at first was because of the hand-me-down wand.
