Harry Potter author JK Rowling has admitted that part of her would be relieved to see the back of the adventures of the teen wizard that have made her a world-famous multi-millionaire.

The writer, who is currently "well into" penning the seventh and final instalment of the hit series, said she would go through a "bereavement" when the book was finished but would also be glad to escape the pressures it brought.

Rowling, who has already revealed that two characters will perish before the story

ends, said: "I guess some people will loathe it, some people will love it."

Speaking at a press conference in New York ahead of two charity readings in the city with fellow authors Stephen King and John Irving, she was tight-lipped about plot developments.

"On the one hand, I am going to feel sad. Harry's been an enormous part of my life and it's been a turbulent phase of my life and he was always the constant," Rowling said of the last book.

"So there will be a sense of bereavement.

"But there will also be a sense of liberation because there are pressures involved in writing something as popular.

"Wonderful though it's been, I think that there will also be a certain freedom in escaping that particular part of writing Harry Potter."

She added: "I feel quite liberated, I can just resolve the story now.

"And it's fun in a way that it hasn't been before, because finally I'm doing my resolution."

Yes, I can only imagine I'd feel the same way as she does. It would be somewhat of a bittersweet feeling finishing up the series if I were her. I'll probably feel somewhat the same when I finish reading the 7th book (although not nearly as much as her).

Yes an epilog(SP)
To say what would happen to some of the other character. I thought I heard she was going to put it no at the end of this book.

I think she might be a bit lost for a while afterwards. once harry Potter is finished. What is she going to do during the times she was writing.

I, for one, though extremely anxious to read the last book...will be sad that I won't have another one to anticipate. I just hope I'm not disappointed with how it all ends...I hate when that happens.

JKR may say that she is happy that she has/will be finished with HP, but I am certain, that she will get withdrawals from the lack of HP, herself. It may not be for a few years, but it will happen. HP has been part of her life, for so long and those things just happen.
