No, you don't.
I usually just reserve a copy and pay for it when I get it at Border's,
but you don't have to pre-order or reserve the books.

Why would you buy it at Borders? It's extremely overpriced there.

Because I live in the middle of nowhere. It's the only bookstore around here other than Walden Books or whatever it is called which is owned by Border's. I think there is a Barne's and Noble's about 50 minutes from here though. Dunno.

I thought it would be amusing for the 7th book to be released on 07/07/07...however I'm sure it's being released two weeks after the 5th movie on purpose...

I usually order mine online and it's delivered by UPS to my door in the morning on the release date. I've ordered from amazon.com in the past...but this time from Barnes&Noble, because my friend gave me a gift card for Christmas

7/07 is the anniversary of the London Bombings.

I didn't know it either until I read it on Mugglenet many, many months ago.
Very Happy

Where have you people been? Of course 7/7 wouldn't be a good release date, It would be totally insensitive to release the book when the country is mourning a terrorist attack. You must be pretty young not to know about world affairs!

I am so glad that it is NOT 7/7/07, because I just thought that would be TOO cheesy

And I had been arguing my case on cosforums for ages, because of the London Bombings. I argued it on a chatroom once, and someone from America told me that it wouldn't matter because that only affected Britain, and JKR wouldn't want to ruin it for the rest of the world just because of a Terrorist attack. But when I suggested that the book was released on 11th September she called me sick because the Terrorist attack on New York affected the whole world. Some people are so narrow minded. And she seemed to think that JKR was Scottish, and Scotland was an island on the other side of Ireland, therefore nothing to do with Britain...

Never mind, really excited now, just need to make sure I have enough money for it cos I am going to Edinburgh for a week in the first week of July

Scotland was an island on the other side of Ireland, therefore nothing to do with Britain...

Yes, Yes, Yes, to my chagrin, many Americans think that if it happens to them, then it happens to the whole world. Do you suppose they think the same way about say the hurricane Katrina that hit New Orleans? The person you were talking to must have been young. It is also my utter dismay that the children coming out of public schools here in the states have a very poor grasp on world geography and world events.

I hope you put her straight on what areas are governed under the UK?

Americans seem to know the states, but do they know the territories that the US controls? Like Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, Guam, Samoa, and I think the Philliphines at one time?
