Well Hermione's SPEW idea ever become successful on freeing house elves or making more freedom for them?

Why do you think so?

I can't see SPEW being successful. The elves can't be liberated if they themselves are resistant to freedom.

once they treat them better they well ask for money and stuff like that. soon they well be freed because people well not want to pay for them

I don't think they will ever really be freed. Maybe paid. They do need more rights though. People are so mean to them. Sad

im pretty sure house elves area metaphor for slavery and the whole not wanting to be free thing happened with many freed slaves who were confused about what they were to do immediately following the end of the civil war, so just run with that, cause id say theres probly not a great chance that alot of the book is gonna be devoted to the house elf liberation front when it wasnt even mentioned in 5 or 6

Well I'm not sure about S.P.E.W. Maybe she'll change something in the future if she lives. Maybe then wizards will start tritting elves with little respect not like a vermin.

SPEW may just be something rowling put in to add some conflict between harry and Ron who don't care and Hermione who keeps bugging them about it

I think she'll gain more influence at the ministry and more political experience so that eventually she can move it slower and actually accomplish something. I mean as a student she's just that...a student. they're not going to take her seriously. and everyone she's trying to convert are students too...they don't care about stuff like that. but older witches and wizards might.

I dont think S.P.E.W will be succesfull. I know if i had a house elf, i would not free it.

I think she'll do more than SPEW when she gets out of Hogwarts, but the underlying concept of SPEW will remain in whatever her career will be.
