Well, don't worry, they're making DH. The actors are contracted and they've already begun looking at who's going to direct. And Steve Kloves has said he wants to work on the last one. It'll happen, I'm sure of it.

It would be terrible if they didn't even attempt to make any of the movies, let alone the last after making the first six, but this topic is about what they might screw up so the criticism is necessary.

| Do you all think they would split up DH into 2 movies or do you think that is unlikely? I ask because not jsut the size of the book but the fact that there is so much that happens it could easily be split into 2 movies |

It's only going to be one film, that has been confirmed multiple times, mainly by JKR herself.
OotP was longer and they kept it as one movie.

He could have written in plenty of scenes with R/Hr + innuendo but it may have gotten cut by the corresponding director. I'd love to see all the original screenplays.

Technicaly the directors aren't supposed to change the script around too drastically. The job of a director is to bring a script to life. But... that's not always what ends up happening. And the HP films are a great example of that.
But as long as Steve Kloves writes the parts in, then at least we can't blame him. It washes his hands of guiltyness. Then we can focus our attention on storming the studios!

I'm with you all the way! Oh man, I hope Kloves doesn't leave too much Ron/Hermione scenes out of the next two films. I will be so flipping pissed if he does. You have no idea, or maybe you do.

we have to see:
from the gringgotts scene up to the epilogue... nothing can be missed...
the stupid forest camping scenes can be removed... one dialogue with phineas is enough... just lump it all together... and the doe patronus part, and the ron leaving the trio part, the malfoy manor part, the ministry part... they have to be included...
the seven potters should be included... the wedding... maybe harry's birthday can be removed... we'll just have a wedding... but rufus meets up with harry prior to the wedding... and harry doesnt have to be barny weasley...

You just know that they will undoubtedly leave out the best, most important parts because the true storyline will not make sense with the previous films where they changed things. I say we all make a rally and make signs that say "We want a nine hour movie with everything in it!!!" and we shouldn't give up until they break down and say yes! Who's with me?

I just read an article that was posted on Mtv online, and it had this little bit from JKR in it...

prune the middle part. just stick with:
- ministry scenes
- phineas nigellus
- ron's departure
- godric's hollow
- the silver doe
- the deathly hallows
- the malfoy manor
the ted tonks part, the potterwatch part, those can be deleted.
and id hate it if they showed too much camping scenes.
as for the beginning and the end parts, i believe nothing should be cut.

They may cut out the entire Ministry of Magic bit, and instead find the locket in No. 12 (noooooooo!), because they neglected to introduce Mundungus Fletcher, who stole the locket in the from No. 12.
