so you all know how the first two movies like followed the books almost exactly?? bc the director was Chris Columbus and he was kick butt. I was talking about this w/my mom last night and she said we should pro test to get him to direct the last 2 movies bc i really dont want them to suck so if u think we should try to get him back.........

Well, the director has already been permanently chosen for the 6th movie... but I would love to see Chris direct the 7th

This should be in a different area. I reported it to be moved so a mod can do it.
anyway...CC was great for the first two I think but I don't think he's suited for the darkness of the final two.

I agree. He is good with the "feel good" movies. I thought he did a great job with the first one. But the second one wasn't as good. He has a difficult time balancing light and dark tones and it was noticeable in CoS. I don't know if he would be the best choice for a director for the 7th film. I think that Cuaron or Yates (if he doesn't cut everything) would be better suited.

id love to see alfonso cuaron!!! he was awesome. i loved POA
however, im not so sure if he's good with action stuff.. POA didnt have much action. nor does HBP. however, POA was sorta dark... and since book 6 is pretty much dark, but without much action, i really think cuaron would make a terrific job if he directed HBP.
columbus did well in the second movie... but the first and second movies were sorta kiddie... which is the complete opposite of Deathly Hallows.
the one who does deathly hallows has to be really good with action. im fine if i dont watch HBP in imax or what... not much action... but DH!!! its gotta be good... or ill kill the director!!!

| *Burns HBP at the stake* I hated PoA!!! The worst one that came out in my opinion. But anyways I think that yates guy will do fine... it might not be to the book.... but he'll make it a good movie... however if coloumbus could come back that would be great too. why was he fired in the first place? does anyone know? |

He wasn't fired. He went on to produce them.
