Lilith had been angry at Ethan, but she didn't want him to get in so much trouble. He wouldn't have meant it.
"Sir, can you let him off? Just this once?" She asked. "I don't think Ethan was serious. I think he was just angry at someone."

Lilith smiled sadly at him and shook her head.
"I told you, I'm not muggle-born. I didn't even grow up with muggles. I grew up on my own." She smiled again and went back into the Great Hall. Maybe she'd just sit in there for a while to cool off.

Why had she bothered to be nice to him? He hated her. And she hated him just as much.

Claire's eyes followed Snape to the Staff Table, wondering if he ever felt any guilt over the things he did. He had to have some sort of sensitivi -- Oh, get a grip, Claire, she thought, When has Snape ever been nice? Never. And he never will be, not in the nearby future. Never. I wonder why though. What made him like that? She rolled her eyes at him, and continued poking her fork into her food.
