On jkrowling.net, our beloved author is asking that we all write ebay and demand that they stop the sale of counterfeit "signed" HP books, posters, and other paraphernalia. They are VERY hard to sort through to send them emails, so try this link:

http://cgi1.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll

peace

I bounced emails back and forth with these wankers and got pretty much the same response JK did after a week of this. Ebay is the devil.

What did ya expect Question They are in it for pure profit. They don't care if it violates laws. I don't shop on Ebay. The best thing we can do is to boycott ebay.

I don’t think they’ll reply, and if they do reply they’ll probably be like thank you for contacting E-bay we hope you continue using our online shopping services or something.

I know it sucks.

No, they replied. The guy was like I am a Harry Potter Fan too. I asked him if he read all the HP books and he said, No i have only seen the first three, and when I was talking to him the GOF had just came out 7 hours ago so he had probably only seen the movies. LIAR! also, i went and saw the GoF. VERY dissapointing. They cut out so much. Although it did scare me at the Quidditch World Cup with the DE!

Did they tell you they would stop selling counterfeit “signed” books? Wasn’t that the whole point of sending the E-mail?

well ebay is a pretty liberal system, the corperation doesnt have much involvment. People are always going to do ridiuclous things to try and make money, and tehrs always going to be ridiuclous people that buy into these things and thus capitalism is formed! not that i have anything against capitalism i love it. Just saying, the fact that "invisible t-shirts" were actually sold for like 40$ each on ebay is incredible. who the hell would buy them... wat other stuff did i see, o some guy sold advertising space on his forehead for 37 grand. He got a tatoo of a company on his forehead, who would do that (buy it). Ah, whatever, money is an instigator of so many differnet things COUGH IRAQ COUGH BUSH IS A HORRIBLE PRESIDENT. but yeah, anyways.

ebay really can't stop this...but we can...but after spending $??. if you get ripped off, report seller and get a refund or get him booted. a good idea would be to use Amazon. They area lmost always dead on, and they have real stores selling most of the stuff.
