I liked Alfonso's cinematography and graphics/effects he did. But, Chris Columbus payed the most attention to accuracy to the books.

Is it possible for a movie to have "co-directors"? Very Happy

I like Alfonso Cuarón and David Yates. The 5th film was definitely my favorite. I think Yates did a good job, even if other people don't agree.

^ God I hope so. If Rowling approves of the director, I think it will be a good director.

I don't care who the director is I just wish they'd get it right.
The inaccuracies were terrible and confusing.
Oh and I want Harry's hair longer lol.

^ Are you talking about the inaccuracies in OotP? Because that movie had the most.

That was more the fault of the new screenwriter rather than Yates. The only thing I blame him for is making the film too short.

Firstly yes, I think the other films were wellbalanced and pretty accurate and at the same time pretty darn entertaining even for people who haven't read HP.

Secondly was it the screenwriter who screwed with the details or the director? And was Quidditch written in then cut or never written in?

I'm not sure. There was a new screenwriter for OotP. That id who I think really screwed it up. Kloves, the screenwriter for the first four films is back now. I'm happy about that.

How does it work? As in who decides on screenwriters and directors? I have no idea about the process.

Well, this thread was from a year ago before they announced who the director will be.

Chris Columbus did okay because he had the most to-the-book script to work with.
Alfonso did a horrible job in directing the actors on what to do, he allowed the new dumbledore to be too high strung, he made harry a Dicaprio wannabe in his buckbeak flying over the lake scene, hermione became too good looking. The darkness was fine, the patronus was horrible.
The fourth director was the worst, nothing looked the way it should, the acting was bad. The director started off making it a movie for 10 year olds and not a movie for teenagers like it should have been.
Yates was brilliant. He made the kids better actors by showing them what to do. He did have the most butchered script, but it might have been the best movie.
I hope yates comes back, just get a new screenplay writer.

150% Agree.
But my second choice would be David Yates. Honestly I dont know why so many people hate him. What did he do wrong? Confused

Yeah... but I think it was mostly the screenwriters fault. And now HP 1, 2, 3, and 4 screenwriter is back for the 6th!!! Yay!!! =)
