Yeah it is worth reading.
Because there is stuff in the book that isnt covered in the film.
And reading the books helps you to understand everything fully. _________________

the movie is pretty close but the books will always be better no matter how close they can get them.
it's only 300 pages anyways you could finish it in a day if you read fast enough _________________

It's not so much what you've been missing as far as clues go... it's the story itself that you're missing out on. _________________

| The book gives alot more character development, especially with Ron and Hermione. You can really see why the troll scene is so important. The movie glosses over the importance a little bit. |

Read it for sure, it's how it all begins, the first movie is closest to the book of all the movies but there is still no way to make it exact, it is so worth the read, great book too _________________ ~*Mags*~

Yes it is worth reading. Other than Deathly Hallows, the Sorcerers stone is the best HP book. IMO _________________

Yea, this book is pretty cool cause it's so descriptive and tells so much about the scenery and stuff like that. I would read it if I were you. _________________

Of course it it worth reading, no doubt about that! ^^ Sure, the movie is quite close to the book, but it's way better to imagine the story your own.

| That's how I got into HP as well. I saw the first movie when it came out then started reading from CoS. I went back and read Sorcerer's Stone after I finished reading 4(OotP wasn't out yet), and it was well worth it. I realize this thread is older than dirt, but, just thought it was neat other people got into it the same way I did. |

The lack of Peeves always disappointed me.
The first book is a pretty quick read, so why not??? |
