(Sorry if this has already came up i did a good search and oculdn't find a similar topic)

I don't really like console games i prefer being able to interact with people who also having a great liking for the subject and in the case of harry potter i don't know any other community that loves it more.

So i began looking to see if an mmorpg for it will be created but as such i can only find a number of discussions on it but no solid evidence or press releases. So i was wondering do you think it will ever come about and what you think would be cool about it/ what should be included.

well im sure that if they decide to make it it will take a long time to make it.

i would love it and plus you could customize your spells in a way that would determine your hous emaybe? like if u had dark arts spells maybe slytherin and such idk its late at night but i doubt it will happn

It's possible that such a game would be made. I mean, there's already going to be a Harry Potter theme park, so why not? xD I'd totally play the game if it was ever made. It sounds like fun. x3

no, dont get me wrong i would love the game its just that stuff like that never happens, like people want wow to be on consoles it wont happen, for some reason nobody will make harry potter an mmo just because they think not enough people would buy it but i really do wish it would happen

Heh, not really into MMOs but I know a lot of people (including me) have been hyped over this idea for a while. Harry Potter's PERFECT for an MMO. However, I've always had second thoughts. Will solidfying the world into a community help the HP world- or would it decimate it? A MMORPG is totally not as endearing as a real RP. The community might get destroyed by 12-year old n00bs bent on fortifying the concrete game mechanics rather than enjoying the HP world. Heck, it wouldn't even be an HP world. Also, there's a problem with Hogwart's aging system. Millions will pick up a copy- then thousands will stop. When they come back, they'll find their char had grown w/o their assistance.

I'm not meaning to spoil this for anyone- as I would love to play a wizard in an HP world- but if one is to exist, it would take a HECK lot of planning. In the end, I think I'd rather settle for a regular text-based RP game instead :/.

I've played in many MMOs, and sometimes I think about a good MMO can be about Harry Potter, but I was thinking were would it be 'cause hogwarts may be big but you may get bored and I thought about when they leave school you can go wherever you want in the magic world, that would be great!

I think the HP company thing that plans these things are making tons of money based on movies, books, and other merchandise, they're making millions or much more, so I see where they wouldn't want to make an MMORPG because its alot of continuoious work and its hard...but HELL would that be the best. I'd love that so much, it would selll like crazy, but I don't think they would go through that effort to get more money, they have other ways Sad

that's just my theory.

Much like pokemon, an online MMORPG with 3d graphics would have made billions, but they already have such a large income that they find it useless to put in the extra work Sad

again, that sucks, they should do a MMOPRG for HP...didn't they make one for MATRIX?

But what about after the last game comes out?

Besides, I can't imagine the same company which makes the HP games making an HP MMO. I would think that a more experienced MMO company would take over the job.

Well, I think its all one marketing company. Yes a different company would make the MMO but under the marketing company's production. After the seventh game and movie come out...then they're opening that Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Studios..so they'll have income there..its still a possibility that they make an MMO, so I hope so.

Haha, that would be awesome. I'd be Harry Potter, and run around giving Malfoy wedgies and setting his homework on fire. The opportunities would be limitless, though they'll probably have to wait until Potterpedia comes out or else there will be conflicting information. I'd play for sure. Unless Stargate Online actually came out before that.

Em.....I think there's ALREADY a Hogwarts Online game you know....I've Never played it but I know the website for the actual game. Alot of people play it, tho I dont hav a clue what the game actually LOOKS like when you play it.

Someone will eventually make a Harry Potter MMO.. but it will be a while. Probably within the next 5 years. The Harry Potter games so far have been pretty lame... except for the newest one, Order of the Phoenix

Well, they made a Lord of the Rings Online MMORPG that I've heard is pretty much a LoTR version of WoW (not a big MMORPG player, so I can't say for sure.) It probably wouldn't be a stretch for someone to follow in the LoTR Online footsteps and make an online MMORPG world for Harry Potter. Of course, that being said, it would be a very ambitious project so it would be at least a couple of years before we would see anything of it.

I would definitely play a Harry Potter MMO, I mean, they did make a LOTR mmo, I dont think it did that well. But everything could be so much better in HP world.
