I've been wondering about the part in the movie when Harry talks to LV in the back of Q's head...and I remember LV saying that James was very brave and he put up a valiant fight or something the other...
...but in DH
Spoiler:
When LV goes to Godrics Hollow he encounters a completely wandless James and kills him...there's no fight to speak of
but you must remember that Voldemort was trying to trick Harry into giveing him the stone (which is why he was praising Harry, saying he was brave and that he liked brave wizards)
So it may have been a lie. _________________ The boy who lived marries the wrong girl.

Harry, and Hermione...shoulda been!
But I would think that knowing that his father fought to keep LV away from him would make Harry less likely to do what LV says...but I guess LV doesn't think that way. _________________

Telling Harry that his father fought, made Harry want to fight as well.
LV was just trying to taunt Harry.
And James did kind of put up a fight. He didn't have a wand, so when he faced down LV it wasn't a fair fight, but a fight none the less. He tried to buy time for Lily to try to get away. _________________ ^made by Fiendfyre
In PoA when Harry is dealing with the dementors, he not only hears Voldemort and his mother - but his father telling his mum that he'll try and hold Voldemort off. _________________ The boy who lived marries the wrong girl.

Yes I was gonna mention that 'Harry loves Hermione'...James was brave..obviously Voldemort would see bravery in comparison to him. Even if someone was brave, Voldemort wouldn't expect any one who's 'brave' to actually defeat him, but just to act more couragous. And james potter did. _________________

I agree, but it does seem like Voldemort changes the story slightly - mainly to hide details from harry (like that his parents were brave)
Because you find out that he set out ONLY to kill James and Harry Potter, he would have left Lily alone, but she refused.
I also think Voldemort is slightly scared of Harry, so he wants Harry to feel as weak, and worthless as possible - not brave like his father. _________________ The boy who lived marries the wrong girl.

Yeah, I don't think we should be taking Voldemort's word on how things when down that night. He's not the most reliable source, ya know? He was more than defeated, he was reduced to a vapor and had to hide out in Albania for 10 years. _________________ ^made by Fiendfyre
I think that's why he was trying to mess with Harry, to make him feel like it was no big accomplishment.
In PS he tries to downplay Harry's mother's sacrifice as something small, all to make Harry feel like he can't win ever again. _________________ The boy who lived marries the wrong girl.

Just because he's a wizard doesn't mean he can't fight. We all know that Hermonie has the sickest right hook at Hogwarts, just ask Draco. _________________ Follow, please follow me home
