What would happen if Dudley Dursley was accepted as a Hogwarts student?
How would his parents react?
Which house would he be in?
Who would be his Hogwarts friends?
How often will he get detentions?
etc.
etc.
Discuss.

What would happen if Dudley Dursley was accepted as a Hogwarts student?
I don't think his mom would let him attend.

How would his parents react?
They'd be furious

Which house would he be in?
Ooh, I have no idea. He's muggle-born so I don't know about Slytherin, but I'm leaning towards that one.

Who would be his Hogwarts friends?
Hmm... probably guys just like Crabbe and Goyle

How often will he get detentions?
Hardly ever. I think that he'd be too scared to put a toe out of line.

See, I'm gonna say Hufflepuff. Only place he could go. I think he would get himself in some kind of trouble and HP would save his life and Big D would be cool after that. Plus, he would constantly need Harry's protection from people who hate Mudbloods, and people who hate Harry Potter.

Pfft I don't think that his father would even let him go. Hahah! Imagine the shock Dudley's parents would get.

Well, see, I picked Hufflepuff because he is not courageous enough for Gryffindor, wise enough for Ravenclaw, or pure-blooded enough for Slytherin. I don't think he is loyal enough for Hufflepuff, but when I think Hufflepuff, I think marshmallow. Same thing I think when I think Big D.

lol i actually laughed.

he doesn't really have any qualities.
He isn't brave, he isn't smart or wise, he isn't pure blood, and he isn't loyal/hardworker.

I would say slytherin because even though he is a mudblood he does anything so he can be on top... and it doesn't say anywhere you have to be pure blood to be in slytherin that's just what most of them are.

This is really interesting, because my best friend and I already talked about this. We think that Dudley is the one who was going to show magic powers late in life, if Jo hadn't decided to leave it out. We think that he never showed magic before becoming of Hogwartz age because he was never upset. He would pretend to be upset and throw fits to get his way, but he was never truly upset for long enough to show his magic. Every one else relates his/her first magic experience as a traumatic moment.

What would happen if Dudley Dursley was accepted as a Hogwarts student?
He would go to Hogwartz, of course, because he would want to. It makes him more special than his other friends. Of course, he would constantly get into trouble, because he cannot stop himself from bragging.

How would his parents react?
His dad would of course reject it, but he would stop as soon as Dudley told him that he wanted to go. His mom would be elated. She never got the opportunity to be a part of the wizarding world. All of her dreams would have come true through Dudley, and she would have lived vicariously through him.

Which house would he be in?
Slytherin. The only trait that he exhibited for any of those houses before DH was being sly, even though her was not very good at that.

Who would be his Hogwarts friends?
He would have idiots like Crabbe and Goyle to back him up. Of course, his muggle parentage will make life difficult, but his size will help him to win some friends over.

How often will he get detentions?
He will not get detention, he will just find ways to make Harry get detention, then he would write to mommy and daddy about what a bad boy Harry is being, while he is the perfect angel.

i think that when we start thinkin about Dudley this way we lose alot of the essence that JK wrote the books with
common man its not worth even thinking about what WOULD happen if dudley turned out to be a wizard

He'd be in Slytherin, no doubt about it. Even though he is not really half-blood, he could pull it off since he was related to the Potters so closely. It's not like there's absolutely no magical blood in his veins, and a lot of people seem to be upgrading their blood lines, so he'd be in Slytherin. he's got all the qualities for that house.

Many nice ideas, I had a good laugh. Smile

@ahmadq25, you are right, though I meant it in the sense of him still being a Muggle (no magical abilities) while at Hogwarts (we speculate what would happen if for some weird reason Dumbledore decided to give him permission to attend the school).
The headmaster could tell the other teachers that Dudley was a Squib.

I think he'd be in Gryffindor, it takes a hell of a lot of courage to go beyond your parents right in front of them and actually
Spoiler:

thank harry potter

Also, from the events of book seven, I think
Spoiler:

aunt petunia would allow dudley to go, seeing as she once wanted to go, she would know the feeling of wanting to be in that school and she wouldn't deprive her duders from that luxioury

Daxxa, indeed, Dudley would have certainly been more deserving of Gryffindor status than Peter Pettigrew (if we are to take him as an example of a student that couldn't really fit in any of the other houses).

Oh, come on. We don't know the real qualities of Duds right? He could be this jerk because of the way his parents treat him.
I would say Hufflepuff and who knows what else. Blood is thicker than water.

I dont think his parents would let him go.. He's kind of mean but he's muggle born so even if he got in I don't think he would be in slytherin.

He's not smart enough for Ravenclaw. and not brave enough for Gryffindor. So I have to agree and say Hufflepuff is the most likely house.

first of all, i don't even think HE would wantto go. his parents hate magic, and i think they passed that hate onto dudly.
but if he did go i have no idea what house he'd go in.
he's not cunning, so slytherin's out.
he's not brave, so he can't be in gryffindor either.
there's no way he'd be in ravenclaw with his IQ.
and he's not loyal at all so that leaves hufflepuff out too.
to be honest though i think the minute he stepped through the doors of hogwarts he would have gotten freaked out and run back out.

^ See, I think that he would want to go, just because Dudley likes to do anything that makes him special. Also, don't forget . . . It's not what he is, it's what he values.
