I was just wondering...
If you look at the DADA teachers there's a pattern:
Spoiler:


Chronologisch:
Book1: Quirell/Dead/Death Eather
Book2: Lockhart/Alive/Crazy
Book3: Lupin/Aive/Alies
Book4: Crouch jr./Dead/Death Eather
Book5: Umbridge/Alive/Crazy
Book6: Snape/Alive/???

Together:
Death Eathers:
Quirell (Dood)
Crouch jr. (Dood)
Crazy people:
Lockhart (Gebruikte aardmannetjes)(Leeft)
Umbridge (Leeft)
Alies:
Lupin (Leeft)

And what about Snape???

If this IS a pattern, this would mean that Snape is not a death Eather.

Crouch Jr. isn't dead, he was kissed by a demantor. It's a lot worse than death, but it isn't the same as death.

yeah. but i dont think she is insane. she is still in the ministry, for one, and was able to tell rufus scrimgeour that harry wants to become an auror. she was just in a state of shock in the latter part of ootp.

well atleast at the end of the book she was in she was crazy..when she came out of the forest anyway..and i believe when she makes an appearance in hbp she looks spooked by those same centaurs so crazy i think can work..whether it is the same kind of crazy or not as lockhart...

Great observation, you were right, Snape's allegiance was with Dumbledore/Hogwarts, though as Dumbledore mentioned during Karkaroff's trial: "Severus Snape was once a Death Eater".
