Hufflepuff needed a hero is my guess, he might have done better in another house.

Because he's probably more loyal than brave. Harry's loyal too...but he's more brave than loyal.

Hufflepuffs are known for valueing hard work and loyalty. Cedric obviously was very loyal, and I'm sure he was hard-working. The sorting hat chose which house would be best for him... and it chose Hufflepuff. Just as Hermione is very smart, but instead of Ravenclaw the hat chose Gryffindor for her. I don't think it all has to do with what a person is, but partly was a person values. There is no doubt that Cedirc was brave... but he was also hard-working and loyal. Those are very important traits and shouldn't be tossed under bravery.

I gotta disagree with that...because Harry was so loyal to his friends that he was willing to die for them, multiple times. And he tries repetedly to make them leave so they won't be in danger.

Harry was very loyal, but that is a quality needed in Gryffindor. Hufflepuff takes the rest, ones that don't fit in any other house specifically. Perhaps, Cedric had too much of the other three houses in him to be placed into one specifically.

I wondered this! But I gotta agree with Edward... I mean Cedric was smart, handsome, brave, and loyal. Maybe he WANTED to be in Hufflepuff too. I mean Harry was almost put in Slytherian but he said he didn't want to be so he was placed in Gryffindor. *shrugs* Just a thought.

makes sence

*just didn't take kindly to someone saying that Harry wasn't loyal to his friends and even strangers*

Cedric also was kind of snobby and stuck up - which whenever hufflepuff students are talked about in the book they are just like that.

not really, cedric really doesn't do that much for Harry - just tells him to take a bath.

But he didn't even have to do that. He could have just kept hit to himself But he wanted to repay Harry. Not many other people would have done that.

no, but Harry actually told him about the dragons, cedric could have said "it's gunna have to do with Merfolk" or something like that - to help harry along.

But maybe he wanted harry to drown...

I think he gave Harry the same clue he'd been giving from Fake!Moody. Take it into the bath.

Say that's true - then how did the other two champions know what to do, because it couldn't have been that obvious to stick the egg underwater.

And he still could have said "You nave to listen to the egg underwater" because Harry doesn't say "It's something outside with animals" he tells him "It's dragons"

I agree with you. It should had been Harry Potter and Hermione Granger! I think J.K. Rowling knew friends could not end in love. Harry Potter also thinks Hermione is not the right girl for him. How I wish that Harry Potter and Hermione Granger ended in love. Ma'am! Mad

Hon, that has nothing to do with this thread. Sorry.

I think Cedric would've done fantasically in both Hufflepuff and Gryffindor.

I see. Well, everyone has their own opinion and mine is that R/Hr are meant to be, but it's cool (sort of) that you 'ship H/Hr.
