6 out of teh 7 harry Potter book are amazing.

CoS isn't bad, but it just isn't upto snuff with the other six. Why did Rowling not spend more time on it and make it better (she didn't have to worry about paying bills, and there wasn't anythign else she had to tie it into.

I don't get why so many people don't like this book, I thought it was really awesome. I rank it my 4th favorite but that doesn't diminish its goodness. Its only fault was its shortness, but it shares that with the other originals.

I thought it was good as well. It's also my 4th favorite book and second favorite movie (if you were talking about the movie). What was so wrong with it?

It feels too short for one thing.

It leaves alot of strings hanging. And it also doesn't seem to develop the characters (except for showing Ginny likeing Harry.)

The book seemed to be kind of boring on its own.

I just felt that it was uncomplete.

OOTP was kind of confusing and hard to understand, but it was sort of the connector from the old series (the first 4 and the more child like books) to the second series (6,7 the more Adult ones).

I think you really had to be into it to understand it's full meaning, which wasn't always easy to do.

My favorite was PoA because it seemed the most complete, the reason I like CoS the least is it didn't seem to attain much to the story (until the very end of the DH, and even then it wasn't needed...) So the book besides screwing up Harry/Hermione was otherwise kinda pointless.

There weren't very many points used to tie it with the rest of the series (if any) so it seemed kinda pointless to me.

the diary was a horcrux, basilisk fangs can destroy horcruxes, whomping willow became more important, we got our first glimpse of young Voldemort, how he and Harry are alike , found out he was not a pureblood, we meet Dobby who becomes important, we see the Vanishing Cabinet at Borgin and Burkes that was oh so important in HBP.

and it didn't screw Harry/Hermione up because there never was Harry/Hermione to begin with.

One could try to say the same thing of PoA...it didn't have anything to do with Voldemort. But there was a lot of important stuff in it.

PoA was the only book that it seamed to have nothing to do with Voldemort.

But back to CoS we don't find out about horcruxs for 4 more books, they don't use basilisk fangs besides this book (if you remember they just drop them)

And I forgot about Dobby, that point i'll give you. Although at the time he was one of the most annoying creatures to read about.

So you've just admitted it doesn't "attain much to the story" the over all story anyway about harry vs voldemort. CoS added to that with young Tom Riddle.

PoA was atleast interesting though - and it introduced Harry to 3 of the most vital Characters: Sirius, Lupin, and Wormtail....HOLD UP

It does have something important to do with Voldemort - Wormtail and Professor Nut Job makes the prediction that Voldemort will rise again. So HA!! Razz

being too short was one of it's problems, JK could have drawn things out better - it almost seemed like she was afraid to bring more characters into the story, have side plots running, etc.
