as bellatrix died voldemort did freak out! now it could have been because of the fact that she was really loyal, or was there something else going on?

It was because she was loyal. The good guys killed or stunned most of his followers by this point and then they went and killed his most faithful follower of all. He was ticked off.

Spoiler:

He also seemed to be freaking out when Nagini was killed. I can understand both those two because Bella protected one horocrux and Nagini (the other one) nursed him while in the babymort form (which is another piece the puzzle of why he's so snakelike).

I guess his rampages were caused by his...attatchment...to Nagini and Bella's loyalty, but it wasn't over the death of Bella that got him mad. He lost his snake too. And think! She was decapitated while she was around his shoulders! Wouldn't you get really mad if your snake's head was lopped off while it was around your neck? Having a pet snake, that would be pure horror.

I wonder what upset him more about Nagini's death, losing his pet or losing his Horcrux?

oh come on... voldie loves bella and nagini... he didnt freak out when the others died. but why with bella? its because he lurvvvved her! Laughing but he was pissed when he learned that she was already married to rodolphus... so he organized a kill-harry-potter thingy where rodolphus will either die or get seriously injured. and bella didnt care when rodolphus got injured and probably thanked voldemort that rodolphus, now a bedridden man, cannot throw plates at her for being unfaithful to him. Laughing

and im pretty sure he loved nagini like a pet... kinda like how we all love our dogs and cats. he always makes sure that nagini has food. and he always strokes nagini who is always hanging on his neck. really sweet. Very Happy

*by the way, can you really milk snakes or not? coz if theyre reptiles then they have no mammary glands... but ever since i read that bit in GOF ive been wondering if you can really milk snakes... i doubt that voldie was taking nagini's venom...

So what you're saying is... the whole thing was a set-up. This whole Harry Potter killing thing was a huge set-up that Voldemort planned as a way to get rid of Rodolphus and have Belltrix all to himself. Very clever.

And I don't think snakes produce milk. And I'm not about to turn a snake over to find out.

yes... and that's why he locked up bella... first, he didnt want anything to happen to her (unfortunately something did happen), and secondly, he wanted her all to himself... let rodolphus cry in his Lestrange manor, but i have bella here with me, making out with me... Laughing

I think she married Rodolphous because like all good pureblood witches had too. But I also notice she's a little in love with Lord Voldemort. Well if she wasn't in love how would they make my sister and me then. Twisted Evil

You can't milk a snake for milk but you can for venom. (Just make them let their fangs out and put their mouths over a glass; makes venom come out *nods*.) However, I think Nagini was an enchanted snake so she was...capable of things that other snakes are not and has an...interesting way of hiding things Laughing . I could be possible. Voldemort did say it was unicorn blood and Nagini's venom that sustained him.

It seems to be that most people here belive that Bella got married for the social status that came with it, and since she had no kids and was always craving for her master approval, she didnt care about the marriage.

digital abe: uh, yeah!

bat snake: so you mean voldemort drank nagini's venom? but venom is supposed to be poisonous? not unless the properties which make it poisonous are cancelled out when you mix it with unicorn blood... no wonder voldemort looks like a snake... if he drank nagini's venom... i only wonder why he doesnt look at all like a unicorn when he kept drinking unicorn blood...

^^^ she looks a lot happier than he does, lol. He looks like he wants to chew his shoulder off just to get her hand off of him.

I, too, think that Bellatrix and Rodolphus's marriage was most likely based on status of some sort, either money or pureblood. They could have meant to have had kids before Azkaban. Probably not though, I just can't see her breastfeeding...ew.

Anyone with Voldy is a bit repulsive, even if Bellatrix is as deranged as he is. I think the quote that you described was there to show just how loyal she was to Voldy. But it was definitly more than loyalty, it was really more like she was a slave who was incredibly obsessed with her master.

Pretty much; I do think it could be canceled out with unicorn blood (much like in real life for medicines and antivenen). But like I said, Nagini could be an enchanted snake, so it might be possible for her to produce milk. He had a spirit form when drinking unicorn blood so it couldn't really affect him. It was only after he got his 'baby' form and drank Nagini's milk that made him change a bit.

And about the BV discussion, today I realized that it definatly wouldn't work because Voldy would be WAAY older than Bella (72 in book 7!!!). I don't know how old Bella is, but I think she's too young for Voldy.

Love knows no age. And it's only somethin like a 20 years age difference. By the time you get to be past 30 or so it doesn't really matter anymore.
