That was the most epic battle in the series and we need someone like Peter Jackson to make it just as epic on the big screen!

I'm going to be very sad if this scene
Spoiler:

“And now---Piertotum Locomator!” cried Professor McGonagall. And all along the corridor the statues and suits of armor jumped down from their plinths, and from the echoing crashes from the floors above and below, Harry knew that their fellows throughout the castle had done the same.

“Hogwarts is threatened!” shouted Professor McGonagall. “Man the boundaries, protect us, do your duty to our school!”

Is not as amazing in the movie as it is in my head.

I agree, that marks the beginning of the war. That would be a crime for them to leave out that scene!

I was thinking even Tim Burton would do a great job directing at LEAST one of the movies - I'm hoping for the final one.

But then everyone will compare the movie to Lord of the Rings... which they do enough of already.

Good point, there's enough comparison between the two going on already.

I think there are a lot of great directors out there. And you never know, someone could do an even better job. So if we settle for one director just because of a fight scene, then we could end up missing out on something great. They should at least look around first before settling on a director just because of a fight scene they directed once before.

yeah there were some lines that made me wonder how they were gonna pull it off directing wise. i think the one line in DH that had me like "woah.... Shocked " was:

Spoiler:

"The Ministry has fallen. Scrimgeour is dead. They are coming."

That was the most powerful line in the entire story I thought.
It sent chills up my spine and I had to read it a couple times just because it was so cool.

I hope Jackson at least talks to Rowling about it. Just the battle scene not the entire movie.

i felt exactly the same way. cause it was so unexpected to show up at a wedding and not to mention so early in the story. i mean scrimgeour just stopped by right before all that and it was just shocking to read that to bring u back to reality of the state of being they are all in which u kinda forgot with the mood of everyone there

That was my favorite line of the book!!!!
It was the first turning point of the book... a HUGE, very dramatic moment. It gave me chills throughout my body.
That line needs to be in there, and it had better be done well.

Steven Spielberg was actually turned down to direct the first HP film because he insisted in casting an American actor, Haley Joel Osmont as the lead. Based on that choice the producers decided that Spielberg would be the best choice for director.

Man, I really don't see the point in that. Why can't they just accept an american actor? Yeah yeah it's a BRITISH book and movie but C'MON! It's not like people are gonna care about the "accent" of the actors are they?
