I was wondering if we will find out more about the veil in the department of mysteries in the next book as we were not told exactly what its use was. Ok we know Sirius died when he fell through it but why was it made and why is it left unsecure so any poor mite could fall through it
I was thinking it was brought to the department of mysteries to be studied by the unspeakables, and maybe it was used to impose the death sentence hence the seating all around it??
I think that it is possible that Sirus gets thrown out of the veil, kinda like its a spirit realm of some sort _________________ ~*I am NOT a freeloader! I exchange advice for beer.*~
I think that Sirius will be "resurrected." I don't think he ever really died. His body fell behind the veil, and no one saw it again, so I think that in the seventh book, Harry's going to go into the veil and bring him out again.
Spoiler:

Welcome!
Sirius might come back as an enemy, something Harry will have to overcome. _________________
Nah, I don't think so. Or at least, if he does, I'll have to kill J. K. Rowling (that was a joke! If she dies, I didn't do it!). Sirius is my favorite character!
Anyway, I know Rowling likes him, too, so I don't think she'd bring him back as a bad character. An interesting idea, nevertheless. _________________ Fairytales are more than true; not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.
Excellent point. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. _________________ Fairytales are more than true; not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.
Oh... wow... never really thought of that... uh-oh. _________________ Fairytales are more than true; not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.
Like, if Voldemort finds a way to bring Sirius back, but as a weapon to Harry, the weapon that was a big mystery in the fifth book. Kind of like Zaknafein, if you've read the Dark Elf Trilogy. If not, I'd reccommend it...

i think sirius will be a part of the next book, but he is dead. The whispers harry heard in OotP were the soules trapped there. Harry will no doubt try and discover the truth about his godfather, and will find he can still speak to him!!
sirius is my favorite character also. if jk takes lupin away next ill be P.O _________________ but perhaps those who are best suited to power are those who have never sought it. I think that Sirius will be there for Harry in the 7th book, but in the same way that Harry's parents are there for him. I don't think he will come back to life (and as a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure I've heard JKR state this many times before). As for what's beyond the veil, I'm not so sure that we will ever know. I don't have a problem with that either. Why should we have to know?
I don't think Sirius will come back (much as I wish he would), but JKR mentioned on her website that the two-way mirror that Sirius gave him would come into play in the seventh book. Doesn't that indicate that Sirius is going to be involved...? _________________ Fairytales are more than true; not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.

That was exactly what I was thinkink... the mirror... how about if harry throws the mirror through the veil and then communicates with Sirius?? (just kidding)
But i do think that the mirrors will be important as a way to communicate between the two of them... _________________ Sonita
i just relaly want to know if the people behind the veil are alvie and if they can come back to life. becuase if so then maybe haryr can get sirius to come back to life and then at leats he will have one parent ( or godparent). _________________ I`m a prep!
Well, this is what I think:
Sirius is not dead, he will return in the last second to try to save Harry, but in the end, they will both die...
Or something like that... but I believe that given that Sirius was so importnat to Harry (you know, the only one left of his family, his last connection), shr wouldn't have describe his "death" so lightly... just quick obervation... _________________ Sonita
