And the time when Dobby is stabbed to death.

The substance alone, even the part where Ron is screaming while Hermione is getting tortured... I'm beginning to wonder if some stuff will need to either be cut or tamed down in order to maintain a pg13 rating.

There's no need to cut out the torture scene. They don't even have to show anything. I've seen worse in PG-13 movies.

haha... you make it sound like we can't wait for Hermione to be tortured... sorry, I just thought that was funny. Anywho....

my fingers are crossed!

We should write letters... didn't someone start a letter-writing campaign about something on another thread? I think it's in The Great Hall or The Leaky Cauldron... There are too many rooms...

It's going to be pg-13, with an R rated movie they would lose too much money and the movie wouldn't really need to have an R rating to be portrayed.

I think PG-13 is just fine for this movie... but R would make it exciting...and interesting...

In the book hermione is being tortured by the cruciatus curse, just like in GoF when LV used the cruciatus curse on harry, and they showed that in the movie. plus harry wasnt even screaming during that scene, he was just twitching and writhing on the ground.

I think they can do the torture scene with a PG-13 rating. I've seen worse in PG-13 movies.

i think its more of the fact that it would be a girl being tortured as opposed to a boy. like when it was harry in GoF, it didnt seem that bad. but i think that when its hermione, its just seems way worse

It's going to be PG-13. A R-rated film, reduces the audience size, because quite a bit of the audience is under 17 years old. If the torture scene is filmed and ends up on the big screen, there's a chance it will still remain PG-13. Casino Royale had a torture scene and yet it was a PG-13 film. Even though the films are getting darker, I would not expect the films to be R-rated. The producers are going to do everything and anything to keep it PG-13.

There's no way this would come out as R. If they bumped it up to R they'd have to add gore and language just to justify it. In the book, the nobody "drops the F bomb" which you can do once in a PG-13 film. The torture scene is gonna be around fifteen seconds long, the Curse might be used twice or so, so two screams, and that's pretty much it. The language really won't be a problem, they allow some swearing in PG movies, and much more in PG-13. I'm more worried about the scene where Greyback rips out Bill's throat (or is it Charley's? I think Bill.) That's going to be bloodier than someone losing an ear or getting stabbed.

I'd rather they cut out the torture scene if it's gonna be only 15 seconds long. That'd be a waste.

Well, it wasn't very long, even in the book
Hermione: "AAAAAAH!!!"
Ron: "Well, this sucks, I like her. I'm going to yell."
Repeat. Maybe a minute, maybe more, but it won't be long or in-depth or anything. Even the book didn't go in depth.
