I have a question about something in chapter 13 that I don't quite understand.
Spoiler:
When Harry and Dumbledore come out of the Pensieve and Harry says he thought he might have seen the mouth organ, or something, in place of the ring (as the ring has gone). Dumbledore says Harry is very astute in his thinking, but what exactly is Harry thinking here and what am I missing?
I have no idea what you are talking about....sorry for being no help, and lately the spoiler button hasn't been working...I will talk to DarMonkey about it.
I took me a while, but i can recall what the mouth organ was. Remember the stuff Tom had in his closet? The stuff he stole from other kids? There was a mouth organ among them. Harry thought maybe Tom had turned it into a Horcrux. That's because he turned stuff he considered 'trophies' as worhty of being turned into a Horcrux. It was stuff like Marvolo's ring, Hufflepuff's cup, his diary, Slytherin's locket, etc. When he bullied a kid, he took something from them. So Harry thought maybe Tom turned the organ into a horcrux. Atleast that's what i think it was. I doubt if it's of much importance. _________________ Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus
Harry was actually telling a joke. Since Marvolo's ring was there last time, he decided to say he expected something refferancing this venture this time. _________________ Things I must NOT do at Hogwarts
I think Dumbledore was referring to the Horcruxes- he says 'very astute, Harry, but the mouth organ was only ever a mouth organ.' Suggesting that Harry was getting the right idea but hadn't quite got there yet, and suggesting to the reader (and Harry) that the ring was more than just a ring.
I agree with Kharina, Harry was getting the right idea, but it didn't aply to the mouth organ... later on in the book, Harry was right (Hokey's memory). _________________ Nederlands!!
