Dumbledore, Grindewald and Aberforth were all fighting and ariana was at the side. Someone set of a killing curse to kill someone else but it missed the target and hit poor innocent araiana! Thats why Aberforth had a fight with DD at her funeral and thats why DD when and fought Grindewald

I didn't think it was a killing curse, they wouldn't just throw that around.
And I don't think DD fought Grindelwald just because of what happened, he also wanted the Elder Wand and Grindelwald was a pretty nasty wizard.

i agreee they wouldnt be throwing a killing curse around..and grindelwald didnt have the Elda Wand yet

Is that why DD waited so long before duelling?

dumbledore was afraid of grindelwald cuz he thought grindelwald knew who killed his sister...and grindelwald was afraid to duel dumbldore becuz DD was stronger, but once grindelwald kept doing bad things DD knew they had to duel
