It was obvious that they would end up together since book 4. Even JKR said in several interviews that she had given plenty of hints. The jealous way Ron acts when Hermione attends the Christmas ball with Krum; the fact he got her perfume one Christmas as a gift; the way he always jumps to her defense when Draco insults her; the way she nags him for being borish but never nags Harry; all of these things made it pretty clear to me that this was coming.
i think it was book 4 that i kinda cottoned on to the hints she was giving out, but when i've re-read POA there's bits in there too that make you think DUH!!! _________________ *~*~ im so lost in a world i cannot join ~*~*
I knew that they had a thing for each other at the end of the Chamber of Secrets when Hermoine hugs Harry, but is nervous with Ron when she goes to hug him and ends up shaking hands. Opposite sex friends or buds it is easy to hug. With those that we have a crush on it is difficult to casually touch. Yeah, I agree. Harry and Hermione just seemed too weird for me as far as "couples" go. I think that Ron and Hermione would look cute together and I have been a Ron/Hermione supporter since the very first book...100%.
