I found it disappointing.

The film didn't follow the book, I think it's the one that less follows the book.
There was a lack of action and I was bored in some moments during the film.
The music in the film wasn't really exciting.

I didn't like the director! I think he is not a Harry Potter fan because there was no magic on that movie.

And where were Pearcy, Dobby, Cho's friend, Firenze...?

What do you think? Which is your opinion about it?

I didn't find it disappointing, because I didn't go into the movie expecting a carbon copy of the book.

I thought it was action packed, especially the end scenes at the Ministry. The beginning wasn't all that action packed, but if you aren't already thinking of the movie as separate from the book then you should have seen it coming lol.

Overall I thought it was a great film.

I found it good. But it needed more stuff to it. But if they did add all the other stuff, it would have been a 6 hour movie

I love it and thought it was the best so far as well.
You all need to not compare the 2. The movies are BASED on the novels. There is no way everything from the book could have fit and you all know that.
Given what they could put into a 2 hr movie they did pretty bloody well. Wink

i gave it a 9-10. Definitely my favorite movie. Seemed a bit jumpy at parts but from when the order appeared to the end i thoroughly enjoyed. Obviously the line posted in my signature, my favorite line in the entire series up until this morning.

Percy was in it, wasn't he?

I, too, thought it was the best one yet.

I gave it a 9-10.

I was gonna give it a 7-8 because it left out that bit about Marietta and when the twins turned the whole corridor into a swamp but the fireworks and the fights at the Ministry boosted it up.

I was pleased with the movie overall. If they made it any longer, they might as well done everything that happened in the book IMO. The movie was a nice balance with the action and other plot stuff, and the scenes weren't dissappointing (I prepared myself knowing the fact it would be different from the book, and i'm glad I did). I still don't like the guy who plays Dumbledore though.

Too many things were missing. I mean if you didn't read the book you don't what's going on in the movie. Rolling Eyes But still is good movie and I'll probably go see it again soon.

I hated the movie coming out of the midnight premier. Went back a couple days later and realized it was okay. Not a great movie, but not a complete crap movie either. If they had made it just a little bit longer (considering its longer than POA) it would have been much better I bet. I gave it a 7-8, on the 7 side more so than the 8.

8. i've enjoyed all the movies, and i feel they have gotten better with each and every one.

people always complain about changes in the plot or things that are left out, but that's never bothered me before. never bothered me until the 5th one that is. it is by far my favorite book, so i was saddened to see some of my favorite parts (weasley is our king, harry sneaking behind umbridge's back to do the quibbler interview and then how all the teachers rewarded him in their own ways) completely cut out. but i think if you just take the movie for what it is, it's a very good, entertaining flick. nowhere near as great as the book, but still good.

Film and print are different medias. A great film maker does not simply recreate the evetns of a book, he/she presents the authors primary message using all of the new tools available. They also are severely limited by time.

I think that they did a FANTASTIC job of recreating the intensity of the book and I felt that I understood the internal struggle that Harry is going through better.

IMHO This was the best yet.

The fight scenes were done pretty poor.
Like Dumbledore didn't enter the ministry full of fury and round up some of the death eaters.
When fighting voldemort there were no statues jumping in the way etc

Those things I felt were a real big part and it was a terrible decision to miss them out.

Best movie yet, the only part that should have been done differently was the battle at the ministry. The room with all the doors. the "ghost" bell or whatever it was that represented "time." And of course the statues taking all of Voldemorts curses. Neville takig his wand and gabbing it some death eaters eye
Also Neville should also have seen the thestrals, that something they could do that won't take up any more time. That and when Luna explained why Harry and her can see thestrals, it was confusing. She should have specifically said you needed to SEE someone die.

It was entertaining and as a movie watcher it was an awessome movie...but anyone who has read the book could say that they were very disapointed with the changes made and parts left out.

1-2

and thats more than it deserved.

the direction was poor to say the least...has this guy ever heard of story telling. dont get me wrong...there were elements of this move that rocked.

costume....spot on
set design.....cracking
casting.....perfect esspecialy Dolores Umbridge
specialy effects....not the best..but still good

The cast can be the best actors in the world, but as we all know its the direction that makes a movie and he just couldnt cut it. ok ok ok...you need to chop a book down to get it in a movie and its a hard job. but come on.. i didnt care when sirius died as my emotional investment in this movie was non existent....dumbledore is further from charater than ever (someone resurrect richard harris). someone needs to give hermione some chill pills. and as for voldemort, isnt he supposed to be the dark lord....the one we all fear? i thought ginny was more insidious. hes supposed to be the sum of our fears..."he who must be named" was overweak.

Also what was going on with the score?....it sounded like it was grafted from another moive. all i can say is there better be a directers cut where this movie makes sense...because if i were mr yates, ide be sweating right now.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE !!!!!!

suggestion for next director

Guillermo del Toro

or if he cant then back to: Alfonso Cuarón

The prisoner of askaban was cracking.....not my favorite book...but certainly my favorite movie so far.

I would've given it a 6-7, but since that's not possible up on that poll, I gave it a 7-8, just because i think they could've made it a tad longer to give it the proper justice it deserves.

I thought the movie was more so...3-4? But I'm more the type to rather have a 5 hour long film, just as long as they keep to the book that we love so much.

Everything was so fast paced and it was so difficult for me to cope with that throughout the movie that all I did was fidget in my seat. It'd go from...Harry's visions to Snapes Occumlency classes and I can bet you someone who hasn't read the book was going, "what the HELL is going on?"

but I must say, David Yates did keep some KEY points and thats much appreciated.

I found that the characters were out of ...well...character! Like Ron and Hermione? They were supposed to be beating each other's brains out! They'd better in film 6!

I'm glad David Yates toned Dumbledore...

special effects ..were...okay? Grawp was TOTALLY NOT what I expected. A lot more gentle looking.

so... in terms of...my taste, it was BLOODY TERRIBLE!

but thinking of it in a directors perspective I guess you can say he did an acceptable job.

OH! The dueling scene was cool!!
