In my theory I believe that Dumbledore is still yet alive by his own Phoenix, Faux. I think that Dumbledore once created a Horcrux as his Phoenix as Voldemort did his snake. With that being said, that means that Dumbledore would have had to kill someone, which is likley that he may have because he is old and experienced in battles.

But knowing Dumbledore he may not have killed anyone for reasons of loving. I guess we will all just have to see.

Reasons this theory might be true:

1.Faux always being Dumbledore's "symbol", when it dies it comes back again.

2. When Dumbledore's tomb was created harry says that he saw a phoenix leap into the air (last chapter don't have page reference sorry).

3. Phoenix flying in the end of the book, or he was just paying respects, who knows.

If this theory is true, it will alter all of our theorys. Of course harry will still go to Godrics Hollow and stuff, but i think that harry will realize that Dumbledore may have had a Horcrux and searches for it along with the other Horcurx's of Voldemorts.

I'm not sure if Harry will be in school or not, he may go there for some time, but not exactly attend.

Tell me what you think.

I don't think the snake was the Horcrux, It was the book.

The snake is also in the OoTP in the very beginning of the book...or there is a snake..it isn't that exact snake in the second book.

I don't think LV of make a living thing a horcrux...sry

no, DD is definitely dead, as JKR confirmed this, debunking the theory DD created a horcrux.

Once again JKR has said countless numbers of times DD is dead we all just have to accept his death and move on with our favorite wizards story until the end

he is definately not coming back and his picture being in the headmasters office seems to be liable proof that he is never returning

Hm.. I got to thinking, and I think it woulda been clever for Dumbledore to make Fawks a Horcrux. I mean, pheonixes don't ever die do they? Wouldn't that make him immortal?

Reading that part about DD still makes me sad. He was one of my favorite characters, and to know his past was grim was kinda shocking, though his nobility in giving it up was what made me happy again.

exactly. he and grindelwald started in the same place, but he CHOSE not to follow the same path, and look where he ended up. so far from where he was. he told harry that choices were really important in showing who you are or something like that. and after what muggles did to his sister...I think its understandable that he'd be bitter towards them. but then grindelwald started attacking, and I htink he realized that wizards can be just as bad.

Spoiler:

Lol you wern't wrong and yea, he isn't.

The whole "make good choices" moral has been shown throughout the book, firstly with Harry getting to "choose" which house to be placed into.

Scorpion said that Harry was ABSOLUTELY NOT a Horcrux, that is where he was wrong.

"It's our choices that define us, not our abilities" was the proper quote and plays throughout the whole book.

Ah hello Dumbledore was still working on the GREATER GOOD principle. He was going to let Harry die up till Voldemort doomed himself by using Harry's blod to come back in GOF.

And making Snape the master of the elder wand. He knew Voldemort would kill him for it.

I don't like dumbledore. But it is a brilliantly written character.
