I loved the book, but frankly, I'm a little worried about the movie already. It has the potential to be the best movie out of the bunch. However, I think it has a greater potential to be the worst movie adapted from the books. After I had finished the book and I was grabbing a smoke, I lingered on what remained. Two movies. That's In. That's all we've got left to "look forward to".

Personally, I think if WB doesn't make HBP at least 2 hours and 45 minutes lone and DH a bare minimum of 3 years, they will not do the remaining stories justice. Throughout the movie franchise there have been some major subplot cuts because of time restrictions, which is understandable. But in this final book, there aren't a lot of things that can get hacked away. This final installment is packed full of necessary information, but I fear that WB will hack away and simplify this movie, much like the rest of them.

Here are a few things that I think will get neglected from this film
- The overall tale of Dumbledore's family. While it was illuminating and very thought pervoking, I think WB will deem in unnecessary towards the overall story.
- Half the final battles will get cut
-We'll probably only get 2 of Snape's memories
-Godric's Hallow might get cut
-While the adventure was a year long, I'm sure they film will make it appear as if the whole tale happened in a matter of a month, maybe.
-They'll probably cut Ron leaving them out
-I doubt Aberforth will play a big part, if any. They might use Rosmerda (sp?) instead as access from Hogwarts to Hogsmeade.
-The scene between the Trio and Malfoy/Crabbe/Goyle will be less dramatic
-Depending on Tonks actually having a role that matters in HBP, she probably won't die. If she does, it won't mean nearly as much.
-They've been able to cut Dobby out of each movie since CoS (though he's needed in each one), they might cut his death all together. Don't ask me how they'll be freed from the Malfoy's (unless they cut their being captured), but it'd be dumb to not have Dobby in any of the movies since the second one and then suddenly people who don't read the books are left going, "Isn't that that elf Harry freed awhile back? I wondered what happened to him."

I'm sure there's more I can think of, but it's late. Are there any scenes you're worried about being consensed or cut?

I just remembered. Rupert Grint was in USA Today earlier this week. They asked him what he thought about kissing Emma if it ever happened. Well, it happened...and quite vigorously as well. Should be interesting to see how that unfolds.

The Verge, I agree with you on everything. I really think the fans (us) need to let it be known that this will be the most important film to us. It has a chance to be the best.

We should spread the word. We have plenty of time to do so.

I agree, the amount of stuff they cut out will be tremendous. I also agree completely with your list with a few add-ons and provisions...

I think they'll leave out all of Snape's memories, at least all of the ones involving Lily.

I agree, since they have already cut Dobby out so much I doubt that moviegoers would even remember him. They'll probably just get someone else to do the saving, Neville probably. (That's a joke, I'm referring to, of course, OotP)

I'm sure they'll keep in the Ron/Hermione kiss... but I wonder if they'll keep in the Hermione/Harry kiss... the one Ron imagines seeing in the forest. And the Harry/Ginny kiss? Scrapped. The almost cat fight between Cho and Ginny? Gone. The Viktor Returns scene? In fact, there won't even be a wedding. Because they've done 5 movies so far and no Bill. No Charlie.

A lot of DH was dialogue... so I'm sure all that will be cut out. So there will be no information.

The movie will be two hours long and it will consist of Harry and Voldemort yelling at each other.

LOL.

Who knows, really. We could do like I suggested before, and spread the word but that probably wouldn't help.

WHY get a new Ginny? you cant change characters (except in Dumbledore's case, i like Michael Gambon better anyway) it would taint the authenticity of the movies

besides, she isnt that bad to look at Twisted Evil

Are you serious? You really like him better? He does no justice to the DD in the books. Even in OotP and the scene with Voldemort he did no justice.

It's just an opinion ^^

Anyway... I'm not even excited for the last two movies now, after thinking about everything they will leave out.... Sad

I should also metion that I feel just as strongly about this movie as I do about HBP. There's just so much vital information we learn about Voldemort that the movie itself shouldn't be anywhere short of 2 hours and 45 minutes.

The funny thing about the movies is that WB claims they don't make them with only HP fans in mind. That they're made so everyone can enjoy them, which is understandable. But how many times have you seen the movies with friends that don't read the book and then ask you questions because they cut so much information out of the movies? I mean, if I hadn't read the books I would have been lost with the movie series so far on a lot of important information.

So, I think there is something we need, as fans, to do about these next two movies. Don't get me wrong, I love the movies so far, but if WB is willing to take a 800+ page book and make it the shortest movie so far, then there might be trouble up ahead.

What do you gusy think should be done? Create a myspace page? Write letters to WB?

Exactly.

Now we're talking. Hmm, I'd suggest writing letters.

I'd be really pissed if they cut out Dumbledore's story. that was the best part of the book in my opinion. they'll also probably cut dobby out because he wasn't in any movie since CoS. but once again, that was one of the best parts.

i find Ginny very pretty

also, i would be upset if they cut DD's backstory. but, what would really piss me off, is if they cut out Snape's memories with Lily

percy wont come back.
charlie wont come at all.
kreacher replaces dobby.
aberforth replaced by whichever Hogsmeade person used.

this is stupid but you never know with Warner Bros
fred marries fleur and he gets killed. so they'll still hve a wedding and he still gets killed.

however most of everything matters on HBP movie.

i like the books, but the films never do them justice i find. daniel radcliffe really isnt that great of an actor. he never really does angry very well. so i think the last deul between him a voldie will be a bit crap in the film

But see, even that part... it might be boring but it's important. They spent about 9 months in that tent, constantly moving from forest to forest. It's important because that really is what people had to do in WW2 as well as other wars and conflicts in order to not get caught. It might sound mundane, but it should be in the film somewhere... a showing of time or something. It needs to at least be mentioned.

Well HBP and DH are 2 halfs of the same book so if HBP is messed up so is DH. As far as the camping goes they have to show it at sum point cause moving from place to place is how they got to the Forest of Dean and evidently the Sword of Gryffindor.

What will get cut out:
the wedding
the scene where harry, Hermione and Ron get attacked by death eaters
the movie director will cut out the snatchers and make it so that Harry thinks theirs a horcrux at Malfoy manor
Godrics Hallow
Xeno Lovegood
Luna being taken
Harry's death and talk with DD
