I am thinking of making a Harry Potter adventure RPG. Right now it is just in the development stages and brainstorming/gathering ideas on what people would like to see. This will be a more traditional RPG and will be played with a GM.
We will meet every once and a while for an hour or 2 in a chat room that has a dice rolling capability (still looking for one)
I am currently looking for a system that would be good or making one of my own. I have a lot of the old James Bond RPG stuff that would be good if I can add the magical element into it as it was heavy role-playing intensive and not all about combat.
Some ideas/rules I have so far:
No sex- The only rule so far. There are chat rooms for that kind of stuff, go join one of them if your into that.
Corruption- I got this idea from the Star Wars games. Characters can use evil powers but if they use them often they run the risk of turning to the "dark side" (joining Voldy and his minions). This means that it is possible for the DA to end up fighting Harry, although it would be unlikey, but i could see some of the other DA members getting corrupted (having Cho get corrupted and forcing Harry to battle her could make for some interesting sessions)
Bringing people back from the dead- Im not sure what to think about this, as it was always a pet peeve of mine for authors to bring characters back from the dead. If I was going to allow it would be an evil power and difficult to do (like in the GOF). Although the thought of the Death Eaters bringing back dead characters to use against the DA could be interesting (Darth Cedric anyone?) |

kind of difficult.you mean playing all the-posible- ending, by us?that would be fabulous, think about it:everybody at the beggining of 7th year.nobody is going to go to hogwarts.Draco and Severus are with the Death Eaters.Harry, Ron and Hermione are looking for horrocruxes.that could work!We add some theories, like the Snambledore one and...voila! but i think it would be better to rp here, not in some strange chatroom...

i have been thinking about it and had the idea of having most DA members becoming Aurors after Voldemort is defeated. they would be an "elite" unit similar to real life delta force/studies observation group. However, they find there are far more sinister things around the globe than Voldemort.
examples...
A dark wizard from ancient Egypt who has used a horrocrux to extend his life for thousands of years. He is more Liche like (basically what Voldemort would be considered in other terms) and has been waiting to use his magic to exterminate all life on Earth making him its supreme ruler. Think about how powerful Voldemort became in 50ish years, and then think about him after 4000+ years. |
