obviously she can ride one, but i am guessing not very well if it never talks about it...
they shouldn't have made a poster of her riding a broom though zooming along side of harry

We know she can ride one, they all took lessons their first year. And she played quidditch with Ron, Harry, and Ginny at the Burrow the summer before their 6th year. But she hates flying (as we see in PoA and as it says in DH) so she doesn't as much as she can avoid it.
That looks like a doctored photo, probably fanmade. Where did you find it?

This looks to me like the scene when they were on the thestrals. I think somebody stuck brooms in there, and altered the shape of their hands. Look at how wide they all have their legs open. If you are flying through the are at high speeds on a broom, and your legs are spread that wide, then you aren't going to stay on that thing very long. They definately look as if they as stradling something larger. Also, what the hell are those metal things at their feet? I have never seen those on brooms before.

agree with the thestrals thoery and agreeed looks nothing like emma watson.
they have always had those annoying metal things on the broom in the movies, i hate it. remember in the GoF film when harry is being chased by the dragon, in the first task. when he falls and his broom gets caught, it gets caught by that metal piece.

That is so stupid! Broom aren't supposed to have cumbersome metal bars. They are supposed to be sleek and simple.

I distinctly remember metal thingies in GoF... that's what gets caught on the roof when Harry is being stalked on the roof of Hogwarts during the First Task.

The metal things on that broom are hardly noticable(SP?), though. The ones in the picture at the beginning of this thread and huge, and they make is impossible for the actors to brings their knees together against the broom. I would consider this to be a safety hazard.

They were probably modified in the picture at the beginning of the thread to fit underneath them. It looks like they were at one time riding threstrals are something... like you said.
I only posted that pictire up to show that in the movies the brooms did have metal thingies on them. I just couldn't find a picture from the movie att he time, when Harry's firebolt gets caught on the roof.
