Is it just me or does the new Dumbledore not quite fit Dumbledore's esence....He just kinda looks mean compared to the old Dumbledore. What do you think?

You know I can see what you mean, Richard Harris had a more kindly, doddering old fella thing going on. But I love Michael Gambon's take on the character -- he plays a much more energetic, spirited, Dumbledore. Especially from what I've seen of the new movie trailer!

I really don't like the new Dumbledore. He seems to rush through his lines and he doesn't have the subltely of the character down like Richard Harris did. When he does speak it's too quick and hard to understand. Too bad Richard Harris can't rise from the dead. He was the ultimate perfect Dumbledore. This guy really pales in comparrison to him/

I agree, Richard Harris had the right look for DD too. The new DD doesnt fit my picture of DD from the books at all.

I thought so too, but Richard passed away and I'm willing to accept Micheal Gambon as Dumbledore. I think he's doing an ok job.

In fairness, DD was not a very emotional person. He was serene. So was the old DD. Serene. Thats the key

dumbldor is very plain and a bit younger then in the first two films.
and i know it's because of the actor and all.

i don't think the new one has the same feel that the old one did.
it's funky to me.

i don't think that Michael Gambon fits the role of Dumbledore, he looks awkward in it. i think the casting directors needed to look at the personality and refer to the books to get a Dumbledore like Richard Harris...

It took me awhile to become accustomed with the new Dumbledore, because not only was there actor changes, there was the whole character apperance change.

yes and in the GoB when he finds out harry got his name in and when dumbledore goes to talk to the 4 people, he seems pissed at harry and in the book i didnt imagine him mad at him because he knows harry couldnt have put his name in the goblet

Plus I got the feeling that Dumbledore actually read Harry's mind and knew he was telling the truth.
