What would you guys think about having a movie made to the books page for page (at least as close as they can get) no matter how long for special release on DVD or Bluray/HD-DVD and then cut it to for a theatrical release? Discusses Smile

that would be pretty freakin awesome. But that would probably take a year or more just to film, and they would probably have to start almost from the beginning and you gotta remember in alot of the pages its just harry thinking, and in a movie it would be hard to present that.
but otherwise, id be all up for it.

I think that's what most fans of books that become movies hope for... but realistically, it's just not very practical. Most movie directors want to deviate from the books somewhat anyways, to give it their own "flare". But in the case with Harry Potter, the biggest problem would be movie time. Most of the books are pretty long.. and fitting all that into a movie would be like 4 hours long. However... look at what they did with Lord of the Rings. They shot all those extra scenes and turned it into a huge extended DVD version. But they did the filming for everything at once. It's a little late to do that with Harry Potter.

Heck, I'd buy that DVD or whatever. But true, it just isn't practical.

I'm not sure if any of you guys knew this but like four or five years ago a Japanese director purposed that he could make an anime version of HArry Potter where it would have just about every page in it. However, JK sold most of HArry Potter to Warner Bro. and they had the rights to deny it. I think Harry Potter should have been made into a TV series... maybe not an anime... though I would have been all for it.
