Samantha sat inside Madame Puddifoot's at a table alone. She looked aroud at all the others that were sitting with their friends and sighed. She looked back to her heart shaped cookie, frosted in light pink icing that tasted like chocolate. She took a drink of her tea and sighed again.

Joe entered Madam Puddifoot's to meet someone. The sight of all the couples sitting together gave him a sinking feeling. Man, anybody would feel jealous looking at this lot... he pointed out to himself. He looked around before spotting Samantha. He approached her table and placed a hand on the table. "Have you been waiting long?" he asked quietly, a soft smile on his face.

Samantha took another drink of tea before a hand was placed on her table. She looked up to see Joe and smiled. "No. It's been about five or ten minutes."

"I'm sorry to hear that you've been waiting that long..." he said in mock pouting before taking the seat opposite Samantha. "So what did you want to do today?" he asked.

"Yes, it was so heart breaking having to sit here by myself when everyone else is with their friends." Samantha smiled, showing that she didn't care. "Umm...I don't know. We could go for a walk."

Joe grinned. "That sounds good to me," he replied, extending his hand to her. "Any particular places of interest you'd like to visit?"

Joe raised an eyebrow as she helped her to her feet. "The Shrieking Shack? Why would you want to go there of all places?" he inquired. "Not that I don't think it's such a good idea, mind you. I'm just curious, is all."

Samantha smirked standing, still holding onto his hand. "I want to go inside." She thought for a minute. "That is if you're up to it."

For a minute, Joe seemed to have been mildly offended by that statement. "I think we need to discuss a few more things before you go off saying things like that, Sam..."

Samantha looked to him. "No, I did mean to say that I thought you were scared. I meant if you wanted to go. I wasn't going to make you go if you didn't want to. You're the bravest person I know that would actually think about going in. I'm so sorry that I offended you." She always managed to say things the wrong way.

Joe heaved a sigh of relief before grinning over to her. "Thank you for your compliment, then. Well, I have no problems going in there, of course. Why did you think I asked you where to go?"

"Yeah?" he asked rather casually, looking over to her with a grin on his face before noticing what she was looking at. He quickly let go of her hand before he brought it to the back of his head. "Sorry, about that... Completely forgot..."

Phil saw Samantha holding hands with Joe. "Damn that kid, if it wasnt for him i wouldve had samantha, but now im just nothing", cried Phil. Phil was wondering were they were going so he followed them trying to to be seen.

Phil kept on following until samantha started walking back. Was she possibly getting rid of joe and coming for me? My heart lept but.....there could be no chance......samantha was in love with joe and phil knew it.Possibly i should talk to samantha while she is heading back. Phil crept along the bushes following her as she walked. phil finally walked out of the bushes and was right behind samantha.

"uhhh...hey samantha",said phil shyley. she looked so beautiful.

Samantha had an odd feeling in the back of her head but it was washed away when someone said her name. She stopped and turned around seeing Phil. "Oh, hey Phil. How are you doing today?"

"That's good." Samantha said nodding. What Phil said next shocked her. "Love him? No, I don't love him. I like him, but I don't love him. Phil, how can you love someone that you almost barely know?"
