did you know dan radclif smokes? no offence to all the smokers out there but dan smoking? just hard to believe isn't it?

Supposedly he just smokes in the play and not in real life.

Robert Pattinson (Cedric Diggory) smokes, though, I've seen pictures of him offset doing that.

I believe smoking is looked differently upon in the European countries, than in the US. Much like the drinking age is lowered there. It just isn't that big of a deal there as it is here, because the US makes everything very taboo. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

yep, the UK is pretty ok with things like that... i mean the Gov. is making a bigger effort to stop smoking now, but they will never crack down on it... it's good to be British Very Happy

They try to take drinking seriously, with the high drinking age, but in my opinion, it only leads to more binge drinking. I LOVE that a person can get drafted, but can't even drink champagne.

As for the smoking. They recently raised to smoking age another year in my area. So now it's 19 in some places.

And smoking in any public buildings, including restaurants and bars are strictly prohibited in New York City. I doubt they would let Daniel Radcliffe smoke onstage here.

You are very lucky, let me tell you.

We have such problems with underage drinking... mostly it's the binge drinking. Teenagers get so excited when they have access to alcohol and they take advantage of it by consuming as much as they can. Which leads to alcohol poisening and other destructive decisions, such a driving. I honestly believe that if teenagers were given the choice to drink at a younger age the rarity of it would wear off and they drinking wouldn't be so enticing. Honestly, most people here when they turn 21 go out on their 21st birthday... and not as much after that. Because let's face it, one of the best parts about drinking underage was the allure of doing something naughty.
I really believe if we lowered the drinking age here then the harmful binge drinking would decrease (eventually) and at least it would make sense.
Only 20, 25 years ago the drinking age was 18. It got raised for many reasons, the big one being the main reason they rasied smoking to 19... to keep it out of the high schools. But kids get it anyway. It hasn't stopped them and it won't. It was a bad idea and they keep making it worse by increasing the age. You always want what you can't have.

I wasn't surprised to find Danny smoking... not sure if this is a British stereotype and sorry if i offend anyone but i find that a lot of British people smoke.

no, no ... dont worry about offending us... its true, its a big sterotype... in realitly not that many British people smoke.... but it looks worse from being on the outside looking in.... if you know what i mean

Are you sure he's a smoker in real life and not just in the play? If he is its a little dissapointing as its a disgusting habit but its his choice...
