why does everyone love snape as a teacher so much? he seemed cruel and unfair to students who weren't slytherins (and not just the main three characters). i understand there is a certain amount of "tough love" that comes with teaching, but this seemed to go way beyond it. almost as if he despised students.

i think flitwick was a much better teacher in general.

As a teacher, oh definately. He and Lupin seem to be the two nicest teachers - not saying others, like Sprout, aren't.

But in terms of bravery, yes, Flitwick is, but Snape was Dumbledore's man, and spy.

seeing as how what these two people have in common is that they are both teachers, i'm not sure this poll is referring to bravery or being close to dumbledore or anything.

Well the title post doesn't comment on whether it's Flitwick vs Snape in terms of what, I can compare on whatever I think.

Flitwick seems like a better person and teacher too me.

well, then i think it was brave for flitwick to get up every morning. i mean, he's so short and kinda ugly from the movies. we all know short people got no reason to live.

I'd rather you didn't post things like that on my thread. There could be lots of short people on the forum so please don't say that.

But overall, looks like Filius Flitwick is in the lead so far!

I'm really short and there's nothing wrong with that. And I'd like to say I have got a reason to live thank you very much. Jeez. That was rude.

Anyway, the first movies kinda got it wrong, JK said that herself. He's just meant to look like a small, old man.

And he looks ok in POA and onwards.

Nobody makes fun of Flitwick for being short. Not even Malfoy.

True True, but i havn't seen much of Flitwick in the other films. Only in number one. Is he the one who Hagrig stabbed in the hand with a fork, or someone else?

Yep. He's just had a makeover.

I hope he's in DH. His role's more important.

i was joking. i don't have anything against short people, and the no reason to live things was a lyric from a randy newman song called short people.
