This is awful.
somebody hacked into bloomberg's site and downloaded a digital copy of the book. Now it is possible to download it online, and read it. Nonharry potter fans are reading the spoilers, and posting it on other forums and places, trying to ruin it for us fans. I've already heard 2 spoilers, which I'm assuming are true. I'm now kind of torn as to whether or not I want to download it and read it, or wait and try to avoid the spoilers.
discuss.

I doubt its real...but just in case I don't want to see it. I doubt they'd have a copy on their website to be hacked. In their system maybe, but they'd have high security around it. and its called bloomsbury not bloomberg Rolling Eyes

and where did you hear there's a digital copy to be had? All I've heard is that the hacker posted major plot points.

I won't post how to get the online version. sorry about the bloomsberg mistake. You'd think I'd get that right since I did a paper on rowling last semester.
I just read the 1st chapter, I won't trhow out spoilers. I just want to forwarn you guys that there will be people that are going to read it and try to spoil it for you. Watch where you go online.

If you're dying to go ahead and read it, shoot me a PM and I'll tell you how to get it.

first of all, it's Bloomsbury...

Anyway, I know people on another forum who dl'ed it and read it, it's fake. It has an explicit sex scene in the so-called book.

It's fake.

Also some idiots posted a run down of what happens. They claim that Hermione dies by the Imperius curse (uhhh...) and that Draco starts to make a horcrux by the end. Rolling Eyes

Then they claim they did it for the Pope because Harry Potter teaches youth about Neo Paganism

ill burn my harry potter books if a word of that was true.

im sorry... but the ending is terribly ugly. its so unlike jk to write a book like that. let alone the last and the grandest book in the series.

an explicit sex scene? that confirms it. the guy just wants to destroy harry potter. well sorry for him. im buying the book and if i get the chance ill throw it on his face.

Basically it's some really long fan fiction is what I'm hearing. It's not even the correct amount of pages.

The book for is 784 and I think i heard something like 720 in a program. If say it was in Word, it would be no where near 720 pages, it would be like half that to make up 784 pages in book form.

The guys who did even said they "hacked" the website so that they would ruin the book and enjoyment for everyone. Seeing as how it's all fake...

Plus you can't be killed by the Imperious Curse, unless I guess the caster told you to kill yourself, that in itself is fake, plus they say that this battle takes place on Pivet Drive between Voldy, Ron, and Hermione... Why would Ron and Hermione go to Pivet Drive, why would the trio, but why would they especially without Harry.

The person who made all this junk up apparently isn't even a Potter fan and they know nothing about it.

They are religious fanatics apparently and if they are so "Catholic" they wouldn't be breaking the law by committing a felony and infecting a corporations website with a virus and hacking and stealing their stuff.

yes i pointed that out to dj a while ago.

there's nothing in privet drive to protect them. the protection will be gone after harry's 17th bday, which is the beginning of the book. its ugly if hermione dies at the beginning of the book.

yes... catholics indeed. since when did catholic fanatics believe that the end justifies the means? no way. if they wanna be christians and set a good example for the people they should start by being moral. and so they should not engage in "hacking".

Not real. I hate this. People keep thinking the book is getting leaked. It's not gonna get leaked and if it is, you'll see it all over the internet and maybe even the news.

bah, my bad if this is not real. I just sent the link to everyone. I did consider the fact that it wasn't, but for it to be so long, who would really take their time writing their own book? It def. does have some characteristics that are unjk-like, but from what I read (first chapter), it didn't seem THAT out there.
also, where are you getting all of your info from?

I looked it up on the net personally, search engines and other message boards and people who have looked at the fake story.

You want to know who would write a long story like that? TONS of people, Harry Potter fan fiction is INSANELY popular and thousands of people write it. Some people have written novel length fictions, in fact I have done so for Star Wars, I wrote a 250 page (in word, so it would be larger in book form) 100,000 word story.

Now, this story might just be a story that these people took from someone else. The person who wrote this might not have intended it to be "real" or tried to portray it as real, they just wrote it as "their" version of the 7th book, because they enjoy writing, then these idiots just stole it off a website and tried to say it was real.

don't worry, it's funny to discuss anyway.

mugglenet actually posted it in their news section on the main site, I emailed them and told them to take that trash down, it wasn't even newsworthy and they are letting it get blown out of proportion. It's halfway their fault and the other big harry potter news sites that posted this junk, because they are giving it life.

mugglenet pretty much put up a warning about it, thats all. They didn't post a link to it and they said they didn't believe it and then quoted somebody from Bloomsbury on how you shouldn't believe "spoilers". so its not mugglenets fault at all.
