Since it tis the season, I thought it might be fun to see how others around the world spend the Holiday. Include any of the following.....
1. Do you decorate your house?
2. Do you put up a tree?
3. Do you buy presents?
4. Do you get together with relatives?
5. How do you spend Christmas eve and Christmas Day?
6. What do you eat for Christmas Dinner?
7. Do you believe in Santa Claus? If you don't beleive in Santa, how/when did you lose your belief?
8. Do you go to a house of worship on the Holiday?
9. Does any one Christmas stick out as being really special? What made it so?
10. Does any one Christmas stick out as being particularly funny? What happened?

1. Yes, we have always decorated the house. I was the youngest of 6 and I was responsible for my folks house until I was out of College.
2. Yes, we have always had a tree. A real one when I was younger but, then my Mom turned out to be allergic to the pine so we have had artificial trees since then. Sometimes, we had to have two trees decorated, when we were giving a party or when my Mom's relatives were coming to our house for Christmas Day.
3. When we were kids we picked names and swapped gifts, but as we all got older with money, we started buying each other presents. Several of my sibs can't always afford presents for everyone and everyone seems to understand this. All buy for their 4 nieces though. (No boys)
4. When we were younger, we went to my Mom's familys 'get together on Christmas. (My Dad's side never got together on Christmas) Now, we get together either on Christmas Eve or on Christmas Day as a family. My husband's family is in California so we don't get together with them. I work weekends, so I will only be there from 4-6 pm this Christmas. Usually my husband, girls and myself have a Christmas eve dinner, but since I will be working both nights, we are having our family Christmas on Friday the 23rd. We will open our presents too. (Except those from Santa of course)
6. Our Christmas dinner is usually some stuffed bird. Usually Chicken or Cornish game hens. Mashed potatoes and gravy, salad, jello, a veggie dish, rolls, and wine or wine coolers. Dessert is usually a creamy cheese cake. The table is decked out in our finest linens and best china. It is absolutely beautiful with the candles.
7. I don't believe in Santa anymore, but I do beleive in the magic of believing and I strive to keep it alive in my daughter. My brother ruined my belief when he told me there wasn't a Santa. My parents wanted to open presents on Christmas Eve because it was too hectic for us to do everything in the morning. (We had to open presents, go to church, and drive 2 hours to a relatives house before 12 noon) But, if we opened our presents Christmas eve, and went to midnight mass that would make driving 2 hours much less hectic. ACTUALLY, MY BROTHER HAD TO TELL ME. I WOULDN'T SHUT UP. ( I JUST COULDN'T FIGURE OUT HOW SANTA KNEW TO COME TO OUR HOUSE RIGHT THEN. I was told all my life that I had to be sleeping in order for Santa to come! Laughing
8. I went to a service every year until I was 18. When I was 19 I changed my faith to Buddhism. (Nicherin Sect)
9. My most memorable Christmas was when I was 11. I got everything I wanted. I didn't ask for much, but everything I asked for was small and inexpensive. My Dad had finally saw some real success and he made this a big Christmas. Everyone of us got really good stuff.
10. My funniest Christmas didn't really happen on Christmas. We drove out to Tacoma Washington to have Christmas with my Uncle's family. When we got back, some friends of my folks had broken into our house and played a practical joke on us! They brought in a tree, made homemade ornaments (one was a chicken bone) and homemade gifts. There were homemade wooden guns for the boys. Homemade dolls for me and my sisters. They made each of us our own stockings. We kept and used those stockings forever. My Mom probably still has them.
