I am soo geeky... Its kinda funny really... I... You see, I started reading harry potter after the first two movies came out and I started reading the third book... Until the third movie came out I always thought you pronounces sirius's name like citrus, like the fruit... Citrus Black... Ok now I'm just getting stupid... |

Heh, no need to feel stupid! We all have our own weridness
I also didn't start reading the book until I saw the second movie, not b/c I thought it was stupid or anything, I'm just not a big reader. And I thought Sirius name was pronouced "Sy-rus" not "Serious" _________________

I've experienced that with many of the unique names in different books. Not particularly Sirius, but a lot of others in the fantasy/sci fi genres. _________________

Yeah nothing to feel bad about really. I didn't start reading the series until after movie one...a lot of people did because they just weren't interested yet. But, man is Prisoner of Azkaban a great book and they made it into an awesome movie too. Lupin was cool but Sirius was downright fantastic. My friend thought that Sirius's name was pronounced Seerus...weird but undertsandable. _________________

Citrus? OMG, how cute ... 8) I funnily always pronounced it right, strange really because I pronounced nearly every name in the whole series wrongly ... yay. _________________ His eyes are as green as a fresh pickled toad,

I know, I made the same mistake! I also thought Dumbledore's name was spelt "dumblemore!"
I got book 3, first, from my aunt, and I read in this order: 3,4,1,2. Then I re-read them in the proper order before OoP came out. And after HBP came out, I read the whole series again! _________________ Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus

i like the book better then the movie.
the movie cuts some really detailed scenes that to me made the book a bit better.

I went through all the books, before the movie came out, calling Sirius, "Syrus"; then when I saw the movie, I was like they are pronoucing it wrong!

You're supposed to pronounce Sirius "Serious". It sounds the exact same.
Sir-i-us. |
