Sorry, but i must say rowling is deeply offensive imo. Hermione used to have buckteeth, but in 'prisoner of azkaban' decided to get rid of them completely after being hexed. I have had buckteeth myself since birth, and i am proud of it! Trying to look more "beautiful" is completely out of her character, and it makes me sad.

I used to be a huge harry potter fan, especially of hermione. She was my role model, she was smart and kind like meeee, but it's all changed.

Buckteeth are beautiful, and useful. Anybody with a brain knows that they help you chew hard foods better. No one was negative towards her shrinking her god-given teeth, they were happy even! All of a sudden ron and viktor are attracted to hermione when she has "normal" teeth. Never in my life have i ever taken an insult like this as hard, because i loved the fact that she had buckteeth like me. All of my friends and i have started a club that is going to protest the books and stuff. So stop reading her books, they are offensive to all women!

Hermione gets rid of them in Goblet of Fire, not Prisoner of Azkaban.

You dont' chew food with your front teeth, you use your back teeth for that. Your front teeth are used for tearing food from it's source, like an apple or corn on the cob. And crooked teeth can lead to larger problems later, like impacted teeth and infections, so it's always advised to have them checked out by a dentist so he or she can moniter the growth of your adult teeth as they shift in your gums.

It's not like she went out of her way to do it. she had a moment of "what if?" and that was enough to do the trick. barley anyone noticed the change anyway. did Krum even ever see her before they shrunk? It's not like they made him change his mind about her. and with ron...he was just starting to become aware of girls, and was startled into realizing hermione was one lol. it had nothing to do with her teeth.

Honestly, I dont mean to offend you but that is not a very good reason to hate Harry Potter.

I don't think that JKR got rid of her teeth for "beauty". But just happened to be what got hit and changed. She gave her buck teeth in the first place right? So that has to count for something.

You can think whatever you want, but I just dont really understand why you would start a club over so much as teeth. I dont start one over glasses or braces, or freckles. It just seems to me that you are trying to get some attention here, and frankly, it is working because of your crazy reasonings.

Im sorry but that is what I think. End of story.

That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. And that fact that you registered just to put that? If you like your buckteeth, good for you. Power to you. Most people don't though. Hermione is human after all.

Just because you like it doesn't mean Hermione Granger did. Everyone is different, if you can't except that you were never her fan to begin with.

She would have fixed them anyways, whether with magic or braces-remember when she talked of how her parents wanted her to fix her teeth the muggle way.I had buckteeth when I was a young kid but that's fixed now and it's actually better for me because they sometimes faltered my speech, and made my lip stick out.I don't think J.k did that as to say 'Hey,people with buck teeth are ugly!'.I really doubt that was the point of her books. And J.k said herself she was never really pretty like her sister,so we know she doesn't think she's the hottest thing on the block-though I think she is beautiful.

Also, Why is the title "'Potter' Deeply Offends Me"? One character should alter your whole perspective on the book.

haha!! Now this made me lol seriously. An explanation "how useful are buckteeth". This is silly. You are going to protest the books just because of that one little thing? Can`t you feel good about yourself without fiction Hermione "supporting" your looks? It is a book! That`s how she wrote it! So what? Try reading some other books and I bet you`ll find a lot more what to complain about. Get over it and grow up!

well, i used to have buck teeth but now i got braces and braces are better. i get insulted a lot with buckteeth than i have with braces. and Hermione's buck teeth is not an important part in the books. so don't mind about little things like those hun so get over it or if you want, find some other books to read and whine about. I understand that you're upset over the Hermione-thing, but I really doubt JKR woke up one day, stood up, stretched, yawned, and said, "let's offend some people with buckteeth!" Harry has green eyes and wears glasses. Does this mean she did it to offend everyone that has green eyes and wears glasses? Ron has red hair. Draco Malfoy is a pain in the ass. Severus Snape resembles a bat. It's characteristics, it's not features meant to offend people to no repair.

I can get that you're offended and I sympathise - although I doubt you're checking the topic - but you should just get over it. If you don't like Hermione for that, fine. I personally sometimes hate Harry-shoot-lightning-off-my-[beep] too, but I like many other characters and Harry can be fun too sometimes. Other people hate Snape, James Potter, Umbridge, Firenze, Ron. (okay, doubt anyone hates Ron, but you get the point). If you don't like Harry Potter in general, then don't bother with it. I can assure you there's a millitron of books out there about people with buck teeth, green eyes, glasses, red hair, hook nose, bat resemblance, and everything else. If you hate JKR, then shame on you for making such a fuss over something as unimportant as buck teeth, green eyes, glasses, red hair, hook nose, bat resemblance, toad face, huge moustache, pointy hat and everything else. If you feel offended by it and it's all it's all, I can assure you that JKR had no intention of hurting you in particular or hurting a couple of millions people that huggle pictures with buck teeth, green eyes, glasses, red hair, hook nose, bat resemblance, toad face, huge moustache, pointy hats, bushy hair, pink robes, grey eyes and everything else.

I'm sorry on behalf of JKR if you feel offended, but I'm sure that some character in the books has buck teeth and is proud of it! Why not like him, her instead of it? Would save ya a lot of blabber in the potterforums.

*peers at his post*

I'm friggin' mental. Very Happy

I swear, some people look for any reason to dislike the Harry Potter series.

It may just be me, but it doesn't seem like a wise idea to become a member of Potter Forums and exclaim that you and your friends have started a Harry Potter protest group. Seems a little suicidal, no? It's like walking into the middle of the marching band at your school and yelling, "Band sucks!" See if you won't get pummeled with instruments.

And in this case, wands.
