They're gonna have to do some serious backtracking atleast or they'll screw up the final two too.

I thought it was awesome only because i like Harry Potter. But if i only watched movies. A mediocre fan i would have hated it it missed out so much had the worst ending in history and didn't explain anything.

As an avid (you might call it obsessive) fan of the books, I thought the movie was terrible. The majority of the characters didn't act like they should (Dumbledore, anyone?) and so much was either left out or screwed up.

It wasn't neither amazing or terrible I suppose.

Dumb. That is what I thought of the movie. It was retarded. I reread the book before I saw the movie like I did with the rest of the movies and I was completely disappointed. It had way too many special effects and the director didn't make the actors act. And what is with all the educational decrees? Didn't they only have like twenty or thirty? I was upset! And what was with the music!?!? I love listening to the harry potter soundtracks and it wasn't all that great. They need to get Patrick doyle or John Williams back. Sorry, about the ranting. I'm obsessed with harry potter!!!!!

I thought it was wonderful. Uh yeah they missed out on a lot, but really the most important parts were there or not changed too much. I wish Bella had more screen time. Same for Tonks, Voldemort, Kreacher and some others. Plus Sirius's death was awful.
All in all I loved it.

I found it awesome, but then again, I thought the same about the other four as they came out.

I found it a good movie, of course a lot was left out, but the way all movies are, it was pretty good.

Strange thing for me was that I enjoyed it more the second time around, when I saw it w/ my husband. He has never read the books and is a lukewarm fan of the HP series, and does a great job supporting my HP addiction.

But when he watched it with me and enjoyed it (coz in his mind the 5th's plot was "much more exciting than seeing little kids at wizard school", it was his fresh perspective that made me appreciate the film more.

Having seen it a few more times since, I kinda wish they didn't focus so much on Umbridge and gave more screen time to the final scenes at the Ministry or w/ Dumbledore.

i like it.....they had really big problems about putting the book that haves 800 pages in a movie who can't be longer that 2-3 hours....

i liked it better than movie 3 and 4. The reason i can't forgive them for missing some parts was because this movie was shorter than the sorcerers stone, therefore they had time to add more things. But all in all it had good spellwork, gist of the story, great idea for using the daily profit collage to flip through events. the only thing i found truly anoying was some spellwork oversight. firstly, stupify was supposed to be a red jet and it was supposed to stun, not knockback. Secondly, impedimenta is a knockback with a pause effect, not levitation. Thirdly, harry was teaching levicorpus which shouldn't have been there at all.

I agree with that a lot of stuff was missing, but if you think of Special Effect wise, casting, and screen plays...it was one of the best. People would grab the concept if they haven't read the books, but yes, I do agree that David Yates missed out a lot of good scenes.

I really didnt like it!
it was more like a preview! i had to sit through the whole movie explaining everything to my boyfriend cause he hasn't read the book.

it didnt even show how percey and his family were arguing then all of a sudden hes helping to hold them hostage in dumbledores office!

it'll be real hard to understand the other movies now. Confused

I LOVED the book, but honestly, have the makers of the movie even read the book? I mean, I know that the movie would be a day long if they tried to fit everything in, but they could have at least put in some sort of effort! Like a longer time frame than 0.2 seconds to show the marauders!!

This definitely wasn't the best HP film... that honor goes straight to GoF. That said, it was relatively faithful to the book, and had superb cinematography. It never leaves the viewer bored (me anyway). There was a lot of cut parts, but that was unavoidable. I liked what they decided to keep in for the most part, though it isn't without its flaws. I'm hoping HBP will be even better. I'm sure it will since they have Kloves back as writer.

I must say I was very disappointed with the film, it was no where near as good as the book and lots of good stuff missed out. I also found it very dark, hardly any of the light relief of the others.
I really hope the final 2 live up to the classic last two books.

i love both the books and the movies equally. I like them both equally because in the books they go into a lot more detail, but i also like to see something visually. I treat them as two different things because you must be dumb to think there going to be exactly like the books.
