I did a search and couldnt find anything so.....

according to IMDB Alan Rickman is playing the Caterpillar in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland alongside Helena Bonham Carter as The Red Queen.

I heard about Tim Burton doing Alice and Wonderland.. and of course I knew Johnny Depp as going to be in it because Tim Burton had him in mind for the part of the Mad Hatter the whole time. I honestly wonder how it's going to be.

Yeah, although I think Tim Burton has Johnny Depp in mind for all of his movies, I can't remember right now how many movies they have done together.

Here is a pic of Johnny as The Mad Hatter....
Spoiler:

Yeah, he always tries to cast Johnny Depp and his wife in his movies, like Sweeney Todd and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Wow, his make-up is.... pretty, lol.

Yeah, I've been checking Imdb ever since I found out that Burton is doing this at all. When I found out that Alan is also in it I almost fell off my chair.
I just love how tim gathers this ''personal cast'' of great actors around him. Tim, Johnny, Helena and Alan is like my ''dream team''. lol I can't wait to see this. This must be great. I hope so.

that is awesome and terrifying at the same time. I adore Burton, and I am a BIG Alan & Helena fan, but OMG he's doing Alice in Wonderland! I have to agree Johnny as the Mad Hatter only one response: PERFECT!

I do personally love them as actors and think it's great but doesn't anybody agree it gets way to old seeing the same faces together in one film?

Here is an article where Rickman talks about his role as the caterpillar, there is also a link to an article where he talks about his roles in the upcoming HP movies.

There really isn't much info there, I saw a better interview but I can't find it now. If I find it again I will post it.

Haha, holy crap. It's always slightly strange to see and hear actors who have done roles that are just so familiar to us, doing another role.

Eh, Alan Rickman was always a toss up between the voice of god in Dogma, and the villain in the original Die Hard to me. These days though, if I mention "Alan Rickman" and people don't know, I just say "Snape from Harry Potter movies," and they know.

i have to disagree because i would rather see the same faces play great characters then have some mediocre actor play in a great movie

yeah i agree. they work well together.
i guess it would be good if they could give an unknown actor a go, because there might be some amazing actors out there.
but yeah still i like seeing the familiar faces together because you know they'll be good.

It could be worse, at least they are good actors and not crappy ones. If you were a director casting a movie, wouldn't you want the best of the best, people you know you work well with and who work well together?

I really can't wait for this film, Matt Lucas is in it! He is perfect for Tweedle-dum and Tweedle-Dee! Anne Hathaway is in it as well! Very Happy

That is exactly what I was thinking..... at least we know that they work really well together.

He would have been better suited for an adaption of American McGee's Alice, but whatever, the original story is good enough.

But the more movies mediocre actors play in, the better they become. Practice makes perfect.

(By the way, totally heart the fact that you're a fellow Neville/Luna 'shipper and your sig rocks my socks. Very Happy .)
