I just finished the last book( a bit late i know ), however i was right about Snape following Dumbledores orders ever since the sixth book. Firstly, Dumbldore is an extremly intelligent character and noble, and dumbledore trusted Snape. Exaxtly why Dumbledore said "Severus ....please" before Snape killed him , because Snape hesitated a bit to follow his orders.
Also i want to say arent you guys intrigued by Snapes character, he was truly brave like Harry said in the end of the book
[spoiler]
JKR hid snapes true colors until the last book very well, i know i diddnt forsee that ending coming, and im sure most of the readers did not see it coming at all. there was not a lot of forshadowing leading up to snapes true self _________________
I kept having mixed feelings about Snape throughout the book. I mostly had him figured for a bad guy, but kept having a feeling that not all was as it appeared. _________________
Oh I knew he was good! I was just as convinced though that he never loved Lily haha. I thought he had a change of heart not like "damn it, he killed the love of my life. bastard" its like now you get it _________________ They say home is where the heart is, so your real home's in your chest. --Captain Hammer
lol I thought he was just as EVIL as voldermort. But remember he only acts brave and does stuff for dumbledore so that Harry is safe because he's his last memory of Lily who he loved. So basicly if he didnt care about her in the first place he wouldn't have been so loyal to dumbledore. _________________ "My Logic is Never without Reason..."
No I think he and Dumbledore grew close, if you can call it that. I think they grew to care for each other. Otherwise he wouldn't have hesitated in killing him. He'd just be like "alright Lily, if this is what you'd want I'll do it". But he found it very hard to kill Dumbledore. _________________ They say home is where the heart is, so your real home's in your chest. --Captain Hammer
Well, I guess that's true but if he never did care for Lily in the first place he may never have even took Dumbledore's wish for him to look after Harry which means he WOULDN'T grow close to him. _________________ "My Logic is Never without Reason..."
That is true I guess. So once again Lily dying saves Harry lol. _________________ They say home is where the heart is, so your real home's in your chest. --Captain Hammer
i thought he good all the way up until he killed dumbledore, but i think if i would have finished the sixth when it came out then had to wait for deathly hallows then i probably would have thought that.
I read HBP then the next day started DH _________________

i had a feelin tht Snape was a gud guy till the end of Half Blood Prince, but whn he killed Dumbledore i wz shocked..i beieved he will turn into another dark wizard in makin who will b successful lik voldy...
but the end of deathly hallows (snape's story) wz really touchin...and the statement tht Harry makes to Albus that he shouldnt worry bout joinin Slytherin as Slyetherin had the bravest man he ever knew..it was one of the most memorable statements in the series
no offence but if u had no clue about snape thats kinda sad.. tbh i knew he was good all along.. dumbledore wouldnt have been mistaken.. i didnt predict that he "loved" harry and lily .. but i knew he was good

not trying to be a dick but most people don't often ask their friends to kill them.
that was totally unexpected and there was probably very few people who thought he was killing him on DD orders _________________

I knew Snape was good from the beginning. Albus Dumbledore was the "all knowing" character. (I'm not saying he knew everything but in most good book there is one really smart guy.) I had to trust Dumbledore. _________________ Name: Mark Daniel

Well, personally, I always figured Snape would turn out to be good in the end. They never gave you a good reason to trust him, except that Dumbledore did, which proved time and time again to be good enough. Plus, I don't know why, I just always had that feeling that he would be good since he was always the first person Harry suspected of evil-doing, and everything always pointed to him being bad, it just seemed a great opportunity for Rowling to have something to spring on us in the end that he was actually good. Maybe it was the fact that I always figured she'd make him good in the end that caused me to not like him very much even after we found out that he had been helping all along. He still didn't have to be such a jerk all those years -.-

yes but he was not a vegetable was he... he couldn't use one hand. there are plenty of people who go on living life without a hand. he still had a year before he would die. _________________

It's weird because as I go back and re-read the rest of the series Snape's character started out pretty one dimensional and he just seemed mean but in about the 5th or 6th book when they went into the history more he became very interesting and thats when I first thought maybe she had something more important planned for him. I wasn't certain he was good but I hoped so, it would have seemed almost like a wasted plot if he hadn't turned out good. By the end of the 7th book he was extremely likeable for me, and I felt like crying when Harry said he was one of the bravest men he knew. It's weird to see how much his character evolved.
