Morgan woke with a start, the sweat trickled from her brow and she gasped for air. The nightmares are coming more frequently now, it was as if she were really there.

As she calms down Morgan reaches her hand into the nightstand drawer and pulls out a notebook and pen. As she finds a clean page, she lights a clove, the sweet smoke calms her and helps her to focus on her dream.

July 13, 1999

The dreams are more real now, and they get scarier every time. I remember going to Charlie Kline's house and getting ready for a girls night out. We went to a local nightclub,t he people were all so beautiful but so different. It was like their features were created by the gods of ancient times and they moved so gracefully as if they floated on air.

Charlie and I ordered our drinks from the bar and spoke about how odd the people looked. We decided it was the lighting, because we could see people moving in and out of the shadows. After we drank our drinks the darkness started to close in on us and as it consumed us the music stopped and all we could hear was breathing.

Somewhere in the distance I heard a scream.

The next thing I remember was being inside what seemed to be a casket, I scratched and banged on it trying to get out as it slowly filled with blood. I tried to scream but the blood flooded into my mouth.

That is when I woke up.

Morgan re read her writing looking horrified at what had happened. She closed the book, put out her clove, and got out of bed.

As she walked into the kitchen she caught a glimpse of the paper that her room mate must have been reading; it said:

Girl brutally murdered at nightclub

As Morgan picked up the paper to read the article she noticed her hands were covered in dirt and blood.

I like the ending the way it is, but the storyline's really good in itself.

Morgan gathered her purse and jacket and walked out the door. She decided to walk to campus and think about her dream and what she saw. It was early Saturday morning so the library should be empty, it would give her time to research her dream and maybe get some classwork done.

As she walked in the library she was relieved to see that she was right, it was empty. Only a few students who were deep into their studies, none of which paid any attention to her.

Morgan looked through the computer and jotted some reference numbers down, then she gathered the books she needed and sat down. The dream books were interesting but no help, there was vampire lore but that was all myths anyways, she even went through a medical reference book to see if she was hallucinating. Finding nothing helpful she decided to take a break and do some classwork, but every time she tried to focus she couldn't think of anything but her dream, the girl, the blood.

Morgan decided to pack up her things and go, as she walked towards the exit the room slowly became dark, it engulfed her, and she fell to the ground.

Morgan woke up with a start, she reached for her drawer to write down her dream but she couldn't move. As her eyes focused she slowly noticed that she was in a hospital room. Looking around she saw that she was hooked to an IV and handcuffed to the bed. A nurse and an officer came into the room, the nurse said nothing and checked the machines, took her temperature, and jotted some stuff in the chart. She left as quickly as she entered.

The police officer sat down beside her, the officer seemed equally scared and puzzled. "Morgan Huffnagel, can you tell me what you remember about the library?"

"Why am I restrained? I will tell you what I remember, what happened?"

"It is just a safety precaution, you have not been formally charged with anything. But please, tell me what you know."

Looking annoyed at the cuffs Morgan told the officer that she had a strange dream and went to go research it at the library. She became hungry and the lights went out. She explained the next thing she remembers is waking up here.

The officer writes everything down.

"Now, will you tell me why I am a safety risk and why I am in the hospital?"

The officer hands her the morning paper and starts to walk out. "

"There will be an armed guard at your door until they release you, then you will be coming with us to the station. I will have the nurse call your parents and I suggest calling a lawyer."

As the officer walks out Morgan looks down at the paper and reads:

Slaughter at Campus Library, one surviver at University Hospital

Morgan drops the paper as her body exits conscienceness again.
