Yes, I know that this will have probably been discussed hundereds of times before, but I'm completely new to HP fandom, so I wanted to see what the overall consensus was from fandom towards each book. So, what's your favourite book? Least favourite? Thoughts on each book?

Hmm.

My favourite was Goblet of Fire, because of how many changes everyone goes through, and I think that it was just the best written book.

My least favourite was Prisoner of Azkaban, I liked it I just thought that it got a bit slow half way through.

Best to least best (there's no "worst" in this series Smile ): DH, OotP, HBP, GoF, CoS, PS/SS, PoA.

I wanted to read it from book 1 but we borrowed books 1-3 so I didn't have them, and when I started reading them I couldn't find book 4, so I had to start at 5 if I wanted to read them at all. Like I said I really hope I get them for my birthday, which is Saturday, so I will find out soon. *waits impatiently*

My favorite book is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows because if you got lucky enough that someone didn't ruin the end for you....atleast I was like oh snap!

My least favorite book is probably Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone I don't know why, I know it tells the greatest part of his story, but it just wasn't as oh my gosh I have to keep reading as the others. Still loved it though, but if I had to pick a least that's the one.

Favourite-HBP, this book was a definate best effort from the Harry Potter series, everything was intresting, good to read and kept my attention.

Least-POA, three reasons; normal; boring and nothing magical about the book, but I enjoyed the movie.

My most favourite one was OoTP because so much happens in that book, and of all the angst harry had to go through to convince the wizarding world that Voldemort had returned and ofc Umbridge who was the classical evil bitch teacher!!! Fantastic book. Its also my most fave cos its the longest one.

My least favourite has to be chamber of secrets, i dont know why, but i dont find it as exciting as the other books. But i still love reading it though! Very Happy

GoF had the best plot
OOTP had the best character writing
HBP had the best ending / lead into the next book
DH resolved nearly everything that was left open

Least fav was probably PoA.
Best I really can't choose

My favourite has always been prisoner of azkaban just because there's no Voldemort! I suppose they do get more exctining as the series goes on but I like the descriptions of Hogsmeade and the fact that the characters are just beginning to grow up in PoA.

How is it your favourite without any good characters and great plots? There's only an normal one. Really, it's boring, Voldemort keeps attention, and Sirius wasn't even bad, Wormtail was, but he was weak and the Dementors, what the heck? Wormtail and Dementors as villians, so weird.
