who is complaining? a few members of dalai lama's organisation, who wants to cause problems
whta happens is that tv and newspapers tell you only a part of reality, and if you mix it with the deeply rooted prejudgements, you en in ideas like the supposedly intention of tibet people to be "free"
you should know taht before red army arrived to tibet in 1950, the country was a sort of farm managed by the dalai and his civil servants, while 99% of the population were poor peasants, in fact, they were slaves
world powers weren't happy about china's policies, becase they would lose a lot of resources to take advantage of
so the media creates a lie, and you believe it |

I nearly agree with some of your statements.
Yes, the Chinese government is not a 'supreme evil dictatorship' that the media potrays it has, but in what way is the USA government a terroist? |

usa government is terrorist mainly because don't hesitate when starting wars or leadinf people to die
always with the excuse of freedom, but actually searching resources and markets to grow their business |

That is completely off topic. This thread is about Tibet and your opinions on that. Let's keep it that way, please. _________________

I understand, but please keep the focus onto Tibet.
It seems to me that many people in Tibet are unhappy with the way things are.
I thought this was interesting... apparantly July 6th is World Tibet Day.
http://www.worldtibetday.org/
This is an excerpt from the article above...
| Quote: |
| World Tibet Day was created with three main goals: first to create an annual worldwide event to help restore essential freedoms for those living in Chinese-occupied Tibet; second to increase awareness of the genocidal threats to the Tibetan people; and third, to celebrate the unique beauty and value of Tibetan culture and thought. Founded in 1998, World Tibet Day has grown into one of the most important events on the Tibetan calendar. |

Restore essential freedoms? Before Chinese occupation almost all Tibetans were slaves of Dalai Lama. In fact, they started to enjoy several freedoms due to Chinese government efforts.
There's not any genocidal threat, and I assume with Chinese occupation less people has died than with Dalai Lama's dictadorship.
And what do you mean with "the unique beauty and value of Tibetan culture and thought"? Talking seriously, you seem to support de former system that ruled in Tibet, were almost all Tibetans were slaves. |
