My PC has started having a problem that whenever I install something from a CD or a DVD either original/pirated, the Task Manager and the Registry Editor are disabled. It happens even after reinstalling the Xp.

Try to run programs like Malwarebytes and Superantispyware.
www.malwarebytes.org
www.superantispyware.com

These will locate and destroy any malware found on your PC. They also repair your system from damages caused by malware.

If you know when this happened, you could try a system restore to an earlier date.

That could repair the damage, however the infection would still be active.

It doesn't sound like a virus, it sounds like your disc reader is pretty much f--ked.

I think he is right on this. Seeing as no virus was found. Bad hardware can be as annoying as a virus too.

Hardware may be corrupt for me only, and not anyone else? It doesn't do anything with anyone else. It works fine on other's computers.
